Six games were also in the plans for Lucas and her CP3 Flames 17U team as she has displayed throughout her basketball career that she is more than worthy of playing up in class. As Nike EYBL Session 3 in Las Vegas wore on, Lucas made her presence more known and displayed why she has secured a litany of Division I offers – the latest of which was by way of Stetson. She is part of the nucleus of a South Pointe team that qualified for last season’s 4A Upper State championship game. Lucas played in all 29 contests last season in Stallions red while averaging 18.5 points, 5.5 steals and 5.3 assists per game. 

College coaches and scouts keeping an eye on 4A South Pointe are likely watching the Stallions’ backcourt as well. That backcourt is spearheaded by South Pointe’s resident star rising junior who has played at the high school level since she was in middle school. The latest offer that found its way to Lucas was of the Division I variety courtesy of Stetson. Her CP3 Flames 17U team is another that will be out in Las Vegas at Nike Session 3 for the upcoming weekend’s live period. The 18.5 points, 5.5 steals and 5.3 assists also contributed greatly to another solid season at South Pointe. 

The latest Division I offer that found its way to Lucas would be courtesy of Loyola Maryland of the Patriot League. Between what Lucas has got accomplished with 4A South Pointe and what she is getting done on the Nike circuit with CP3 Flames, one can see why coach Danielle O’Banion wants Lucas sporting Greyhounds green. Lucas has more experience than the average rising junior considering she first played varsity as a seventh grader. In the 29 games she played for the Stallions last season, she averaged 18.5 points, 5.5 steals and 5.3 assists. Lucas adds the Loyola Maryland offer to others she received from College of Charleston and South Alabama since high school play concluded. Lucas guided South Pointe to another 4A Upper State championship game last season. 

Speaking of in-state recruiting, the latest program to extend an offer in the direction of Lucas was from the Palmetto State – College of Charleston, to be exact. The CP3 Flames product spent her May live period at Nike Session 2 in New Orleans. Lucas would lead her 4A South Pointe team to another solid season as the Stallions made another appearance in the Upper State championship game. She played in all 29 games in 2025-26 for a South Pointe team that finished 26-3 and went a perfect 12-0 against region foes. Lucas averaged 18.5 points, 5.5 steals, 5.3 assists and 2.9 steals per contest last season.

Lucas is another noteworthy guard that is no stranger to Division I offers. This past week, Lucas secured an offer from Sun Belt school South Alabama. She has also earned looks from College of Charleston, Winthrop, Elon, Furman and NC A&T among others. Lucas has played at the varsity level since she was a seventh grader and paved the way for another solid season with 4A South Pointe. Her play helped the Stallions reach another Upper State championship game. During last month’s live period, she participated at Nike Session 2 in New Orleans playing up in class with CP3 Flames 17U. 

Lucas proudly wore the CP3 Flames uniform this past weekend as she was in New Orleans for Nike Girls EYBL Session Two. Her performance in the Crescent City was a perfect example of what to do even when the shots are not falling. Lucas managed to help her team as a ball distributor, rebounder and as a collector of steals. She recently earned York County Basketball Player of the Year honors for 2026. Lucas has been playing at the varsity level since she was a seventh and played in 29 games throughout the 2025-26 season for 4A South Pointe. She averaged 18.5 points, 5.5 steals and 5.3 steals per game this past season. 

The only 2028 that is playing up on Carolina Flames 17u team. She fit right in with the team whether she was playing the point guard or the scoring guard. Kaleigh knocked down some key three point shots at times that were nothing but net. She also showed a nice floater game when she was shooting over longer defenders. Defensively, she made it tough on the opposing team by always being around the ball and playing savy defense.

Lucas showed this weekend that she can score over bigger defenders. She took the ball to the rack multiple times displaying her craftiness by changing her speed and direction with the ball in her hands. The most impressive thing was she was finishing through hard contact. Kaleigh also showed a nice tear drop floater over long defenders trying to protect the rim. She looks like she is set for an outstanding AAU season.

Lucas keys the backcourt efforts for the 4A Stallions. She also recently achieved a milestone when she reached the 1,500-point plateau for her stellar career. Lucas has played at the varsity level since she was a seventh grader, giving her more experience than the average sophomore. She has played in all 20 games this season for South Pointe and has averaged 17.7 points, 5.8 rebounds, 4.7 steals and 3.2 rebounds per contest. Also among her list of accomplishments in 2025-26 was when Lucas notched her first career triple double in a victory over 5A Division 2 Fort Mill. South Pointe will once again be a scary team when we get to late February – and March. 

Coach Stephanie Butler-Graham’s 4A South Pointe team has put together another stellar season – one where the Stallions have not lost a game against an opponent from the Palmetto State. The star sophomore guard recently reached the 1,500-point plateau for her career. Lucas has played at the varsity level since she was in the seventh grade and has played in all 20 games this season. She has averaged 17.7 points, 5.8 assists, 4.7 steals and 3.2 rebounds per game this season. The Stallions were recently ranked third in the most recent 4A coaches’ poll – only behind Westside and defending champion North Augusta.
