#61 up from #72 Phillips has made several of my Tip Sheets yet her being one of the standouts in both the 3 on 3 as well as the 5 on 5 at PGH The Expo had me SMH see evaluations here

Phillips “set it off” last season at the PGH Sophomore ID Showcase see evaluations here but keep in mind she’s a “long and athletic” guard and has a variety of offensive intangibles to keep defenders off balance. Her body control on her finishes after contact were nice, yeah her first step got it started plus she can drop the jumper ala pull up, stop and pop, as well as “catch and shoot” , all while being defended from mid to long-range. She has UPS to rebound, she goes AFTA everything off the rim, or block shots. She defended both in and outside the paint and saw the floor well

Phillips makes it to one of the PGH Showcases every season, see evaluations here, and every season she doesn’t disappoint because she is always among the top players in attendance. She’s a “long and athletic” guard, that too is also the base, and seeing her create her shot better while being pressured to either score off the dribble or drop the jumper was nice, but guess what was even nicer? Watching her follow her shot, #THROWBACK She did a good job rebounding as well as defending strongly

Phillips was another Top Performer at the Sophomore ID Showcase see evaluation here and when you factor in she plays taller than her listed height, she is on to something as her stock will continue to rise. Her college-ready frame helped her overpower guards off the dribble as well as outrebound taller players yet I’m having flashbacks of her shot blocking and visualizing what’s coming next

Not only did she stand out in the “3 on 3”, but she also did the same in the “5 on 5” and guess what, that placed her on the Top Performer list see evaluation here

Phillips gave me a glimpse of what was coming during the “3 on 3” games immediately starting with her being a “long and athletic” guard, also the base, that came from out of nowhere to block shots. She elevated to rebound as well as score around the basket, but she also did it to drop the jumper. Much of the same during the 5 on 5, yet going “coast to coast” to score or dish, yes her court vision across the board was nice, so was her “on the ball” defense, and she played the passing lane
