About Jaylen

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I play hard and my strengths are rebounding, looking for the better shot, three-point shooting, and shot blocking. I like playing physical and transition basketball.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am an encouraging teammate. I do not get mad or yell at my teammates. I support them through encouragement and picking them up when they are not at their best. I love talking on and off the court. I often strive for approval of my coaches and my team and I want to be pushed to be the best version of a player I can be.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I play flag football and track. I received honor roll every year and had an academic All-Conference award.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Leadership- During my past two high school years, we have had two different coaches and almost two completely different teams. This year, with a new (and very young) coach and completely different team atmosphere I was forced to develop more of a leadership role on the team, on and off the court.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Two new coaches in two years (High School)- It was a challenge move into a completely new team setting for two years straight.

What type of college are you looking for?

A college that will give me a good education while also being able to play the sport I love.
