Frye is a solid prospect with such a pleasant game to watch. She doesn’t just fit traditional molds. Jaylin makes a difference on both ends of the floor and loves to apply pressure that speed the tempo up a bit. Her strength, athleticism and composure shown in tough situations make Frye a standout within the class.

Jaylin delivered a strong performance in the Division 2 state semifinal against Whitman-Hanson, finishing with 10 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 assists. She has a soft touch around the rim, converting contested layups at a high rate. Defensively, she uses strong hands to force turnovers and protect the paint, consistently turning defense into offense while also blocking shots at the rim.

Jaylin was also a leader for the Spartans as a freshman. She finished with 10 points, 8 of them coming in the third quarter. She’s a strong finisher, active on the glass, and keeps possessions alive by tipping and grabbing offensive boards. Runs the floor well, makes good cuts, and attacks the rim with confidence. Jaylin showed up and made a real impact.

Jaylin runs the floor extremely well in transition, consistently making herself available for easy scoring opportunities. She makes her presence felt in the paint by cutting into open space and finishing efficiently whenever she receives the ball. She doesn’t force shots, instead doing a good job of kicking the ball out to teammates for higher-quality looks. On the glass, she’s a reliable rebounder who boxes out effectively and hustles after every loose ball.

Jaylin is a versatile forward who impacts the game on both ends. She attacks aggressively from the wing, driving to the basket or finding open teammates, and shows great timing as a cutter. On defense, she makes good rotations, contests shots, and secures rebounds, using her strength and court awareness to pressure opponents. Her ability to play both post and wing makes her a multi-dimensional threat and a key contributor to her team’s success.

Jaylin is such a well-rounded prospect already. She’s a remarkable off-ball screener that opens up things within the halfcourt offense and heavily contributes to fluid basketball being played in various styles of play. She helps keep opposing teams honest by being a steady mid-post-to-block presence. Frye is a surprisingly good cutter; after she makes contact on those hard screens, she’s expeditiously diving to the basket, giving her teammates a major target in route to the basket. On top of that, Jaylin rebounds very well, has the capacity to control the ball out on breaks and is a fabulous rim-runner. The versatility in her game will make her a stable figure in the region for years to come.

Jaylin is a player that means business. She’s had a tremendous year growing as a player and has contributed to St. Mary’s getting a championship. Frye works hard and gets straight to the point, without all the extra fluff. She understands how attack the lane, has a few go-to-moves that are savvy enough for her to get past defenders, sports a goodlooking jump shot and can hold her own guarding a few different positions. Frye was tied for second in the voting.

Jaylin is one of the most versatile players in this class. She can play efficiently at a few positions due to her frame. Frye is also resilient and feisty while attacking the glass when the game slows down. Her defensive awareness is an underrated feature of hers. She’s regularly in position to aid for whatever duty calls. Frye is playing with St. Mary’s who happens to be on a dynasty run over the last 4 years. The momentum seems to be in their favor for the foreseeable future and Frye will be a factor for them coming up.
