#3 for Hays was the leading scorer in total on the day with a blistering 33 points against Shawnee Heights, where she was on fire to start the game by getting to the hole and then caught fire again in the 3rd & 4th quarter from three. Shawnee Heights didn’t have much of a chance today because Jenna was ultra-aggressive and refused to miss a shot today.

‘s trainer’s social‑media feeds and you’ll find a running highlight reel— not of game clips, but of early‑morning ball‑handling drills, tireless shooting reps, and strength sessions with her trainers. Those training sessions highlight something that the people of Hays already know: Jenna’s love for basketball drives everything she does. She doesn’t train just to log hours; she trains with a passion and respect for the game. The result is a player whose skills expand in real time right before our eyes.

Impressive scoring spurt in the second half of a match up against a few of Oklahoma’s top 2028 prospects. Had double digits in less than a few minutes, with a mixture of threes and “And 1s”. Including a nice 12 footer where she took a bump, spun and still hit. Lead guard with bucket getting DNA.

So I got a small sample of what Schmeidler can do in the first-round game of the Class 6A Tournament. Unfortunately for her and her Hays’ teammates, their undefeated season ended with a first-round loss to the eventual champion St. Thomas Aquinas. She turned it on in the second half of the the loss. She is an explosive athlete. As of this post, she plays club ball with the Kansas United. I hope I get to see her compete this spring. I want an extended look at her game.

The talented freshman opened her high school career by averaging 17 points over three games at the Hays Shootout, including 25 in the championship game win over Life Prep Academy. Regarded inside and outside the state as one of the top 2028s in Kansas she has great handles and quickness. She has a high level, mature game that college coaches have quickly noticed. Among the things I like is her ability to get to the rim with her pick-and-roll reads.

A 2028 that was impressive to watch this past Sunday. Another first timer for me that continued to stand out as I watched her team play. The thing that stood out the most was how shifty she was on the drives. It was down hill but seemed to slide to the right or left to get the shot off. It was just very smooth as if she was working in and out the cones.
Good vision on the drives that was looking for the backside drop to her teammates for the score. A good shooter from the outside as she knocked down several in the games I enjoyed watching her player as she seemed to always make things happen.
