Jenna Twedt Jenna Twedt 5'8" | SG Benton | 2023 State IA has been the heart and soul of Benton Community high school on the way to their solid start thus far this season. Twedt, a diverse scorer and play-maker, is one of the best two way guards in the state for the senior class. Comparative to other seniors in this group Twedt may not be ranked in the top 5 of many categories this year but her play jumps off the screen when witnessed. The Bobcats are currently sitting with a 16-2 record with Twedt leading the charge. She is averaging 19.1 PPG, and 3.8 APG while shooting almost 90% from the free throw line. One of the best free throw percentages throughout the state of Iowa in any class up until this point in the season. Benton thrives on defense and I expect that to be the case going into the playoffs. They play a certain type of way defensively that leads to their opponent having offensive issues, which then creates low scoring games where the Bobcats can take over throughout. Behind this strategy and Twedt’s play, this group could do a lot of special things during the post season this year with how they can stop other teams.

Twedt battled foul trouble early into this game. It took until the second half for her to settle in. She did so nicely, leading her team with 10 points on 4 of 7 shooting from the floor. She knocked down her lone three-point attempt. The Kirkwood Community College pledge boasts a solid all-around game with an ability to score at all three levels and handle the ball expertly from either side. She rebounds, passes and defends well.

Twedt, a Kirkwood women’s basketball commit, has been making a difference on every level thus far coming into break and is lacing up to have an even better second half of the year coming up with their season ending with a win at the state tournament in Des Moines. The crafty point guard is a college coaches dream. She does her job, gets others involved, runs the offense to a T, and can make a play for herself or a teammate down the stretch when it matters. Coming out of break when the Wildcats face off against the Solon Spartans, this game will feature two of the best players in the state in the 3A class between Twedt and Iowa commit Callie Levin Callie Levin 5'10" | PG Solon | 2024 State IA , so it should be a good one with a lot of “fireworks”.

Benton Community has started off this season with an overall 9-1 record and 3-1 in conference going into break, with their only loss coming to Center Point-Urbana high school at the beginning of this season by a final score of 22-27. This is uncommon for both teams in that previous match-up as they both are very good at scoring the basketball against their opponents a majority of the time. This fantastic start for Benton can be attributed to the team work for the Bobcats and the senior leadership of guard Jenna Twedt Jenna Twedt 5'8" | SG Benton | 2023 State IA . Twedt, a Kirkwood women’s basketball commit, has been lighting it up so far this season by averaging 20 PPG and dishing out 4 APG against some really good opponents. I would say up to this point, the Bobcats and Twedt have had one of the most difficult schedules I’ve seen this season. With that being said, it makes their overall record even more impressive to the outside viewer. Looking forward I think that it will be tough for anyone else to beat this team the rest of the regular season and going into playoffs. They will have some tough challenges ahead to end the year but they are a good enough team to keep a 1 loss record going into the tournament.
