Yanity also played a key role in the Wildcats’ run in the 5A tournament last season – and she too has announced a commitment. She recently announced that she will take her talents to nearby Newberry College. Defensively, she stays active with her hands and is willing to absorb contact that can put her at the free throw line. Another of Yanity’s many strengths is attacking the rim and she has also shown a lot of prowess as a long range shooter. Yanity will also take full advantage in case an opposing ball carrier commits a miscue around her as she will translate that into an extra Lexington possession.

Yanity proved to be another reason why 5A Lexington had such a stellar 2021-22 and nearly dispatched of Sumter (the previous year’s 5A runners-up) in a third-round tournament contest. She has a talent for attacking the rim and getting to the basket but can also put points on the board with what she does as a long range shooter. Defensively she can switch on who she defends and take advantage of an opposing ball handler’s miscue that can precipitate a turnover. Yanity remains active with her hands as a defender and is not afraid to draw contact that can place her at the free throw line. She will play her collegiate basketball at Newberry College.
