I met Jerney before the games tipped off and had already been told that she was a good player with no offers. I could see for myself that she was a friendly kid and she told us that she has (and has always had) all A’s and B’s, and a great ACT score. So, I figured once games started, I’d have to see something wrong with her if every college coach in the state is missing out on her. I kept waiting and waiting. Her red flag never came. No attitude. No lack of effort. Instead, just a ton of blocked shots from a long, lanky, and super athletic player. A lot of fast break points from a player who is lightning fast and gets out in transition. She even showed the ability to play outside of the post by handling the ball very well and hitting some pretty jumpers. Now, what are all of you waiting on?

Jerney is a long, agile athlete that knows how to use her talent to her advantage. She fights for position at the block, knows how to hold the seal, and present a perfect target for the post entry pass. She has good hands to catch and a great touch to finish around the rim. She can elevate over the defense or use her foot work to get around when she faces up. She finishes through contact very well and she will make her free throws. Defensively she makes the opposing team think and force turnovers because she has long arms and quick instincts. She rebounds, protects the rim, and is one of the hardest workers on the court.
