Though the reasons vary, these players all had things that caught the eye of each of our scouts and in a post-showcase meeting, we all agreed that honors were due. Take a look at the five players who deserve the utmost recognition for their hard work at The Hive on Sunday (in no particular order).
I met Jerney before the games tipped off and had already been told that she was a good player with no offers. I could see for myself that she was a friendly kid and she told us that she has (and has always had) all A’s and B’s, and a great ACT score. So, I figured once games started, I’d have to see something wrong with her if every college coach in the state is missing out on her. I kept waiting and waiting. Her red flag never came. No attitude. No lack of effort. Instead, just a ton of blocked shots from a long, lanky, and super athletic player. A lot of fast break points from a player who is lightning fast and gets out in transition. She even showed the ability to play outside of the post by handling the ball very well and hitting some pretty jumpers. Now, what are all of you waiting on?

Players like Kyndal are the reason I am so excited to go to showcases like this. You never know if you’re going to see a player that you had never heard of that just completely blows your mind. Kyndal has good size and length, but even more than that, she can absolutely jump out of the gym. I mean, I’ve sat here trying to come up with a phrase even better than that to describe her hops and I can’t. She can fly… and she’s only a 2026. Then I saw her do things like pull-throughs with just beautiful footwork, jab steps, fadeaways. She just had the most insane arsenal of moves and I could not believe that I hadn’t been told about her as soon as I came back from hiatus. Williams is one of the top players in the class of 2026. There’s no doubt in my mind.
Ady is stepping into a big time role in Norman this season as she will, more than likely, be running the point for a very, very good basketball team coached by the formidable Frankie Parks. If anyone thought she wasn’t ready to run an offense coached by one of the brightest minds in the state and featuring the best player in the state, then they should have been there to see her handle a thrown together team with no practice time. Ady guided the team more deftly than could be expected in the situation and got plenty of buckets to boot. She also defended at a level higher than almost anyone in attendance. Hybl is a Division-I prospect and by the end of this high school season, I think everyone will know.

Another player that was an absolute revelation on Sunday was Maycee Hill Maycee Hill 5’5″ | PG Bixby | 2026 State OK . When you see a player that has such a firm grasp of the tempo and flow of a game and how to manage them, you automatically assume that they are a senior. In fact, I had never even checked on my sheet to see how old Maycee was. Nobody throws defenders off balance like that with their speed without having done it at the high school level for years. Alas, I was wrong, and I’m here to say that Bixby looks to have one of the best 2026 players in the state on their hands. I mean, I didn’t even mention the commitment to rebounding and the fact that she hit something like 800 three pointers in four games. This kid’s a star!

I used a word that I don’t use in my notes too often beside Makiya’s name – “ridiculous;” in a good way. As in, “absolutely ridiculous footwork in the post.” So, as I mentioned before, I’m reacquainting myself with the 2026 class after being away at school for a while. I went to Makiya’s Twitter profile to watch video and there at the top of the screen I read, “Dance Major.” Now it all makes sense. The smoothness with which she navigated the forest of bodies in the paint showed a deftness that the great Alvin Ailey would have marveled at. She is still young and makes it look so easy to grab a ton of rebounds, blocks, and points. She OWNS the paint. Makiya is a BIG TIME prospect!
