Expert Analysis
Brandon Bradley | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
I’ve been watching Jordyn for what seems like forever…probably since between her 7th and 8th Grade years. She stood out this past weekend because she looked leaner, longer, a hair taller, and much more active/explosive than in the past. When she was younger, she used her power, then she became a shooter, but now she is looking more like a complete player who can bury shots outside or put it on the floor and attack the basket assertively. She has always played with a solid basketball IQ, but her ability to make more plays now because of her change has already drawn more schools with interest.

Jordyn is a bit different than most of the girls on this list, because she is more of a strong, powerful wing prospect who uses her physicality to attack the basket. She is actually a very accurate perimeter shooter when she has space and rhythm, but she likes to body defenders and use her strength to attack the basket as well. She also has a nice little turn-around game from 15-feet. Perimeter defense is where she has needed to improve the most, and I feel like she showed improvement throughout June and July.

Over the years, Jordyn has always been stronger than most of her peers, but she is such a good/pure lefty shooter that you found her primarily around the wings. This Spring & Summer she has been much more aggressive off the dribble and battled for caroms inside the arc with a different intensity. While she is still a very good shooter, I like this versatility to her offensive game. At the defensive end, she has done a better job of taking on both wings and forwards.

I have watched Jordyn for a couple of years now, and she is a strong, physical wing prospect who continues to produce consistently. She has nice touch and a quick release from the perimeter, and that’s probably what stands out the most about her. She is a solid North/South athlete who can straight-line drive it, but she likes to hunt jump-shots from the perimeter first. Defensively, she has begun to play with more urgency, and she is becoming a more effective rebounder as well. She can also defend a combination of wings and forwards.
