When I had a chance to see Josilyn Miller Josilyn Miller 5'9" | CG Verdigre Public School | 2024 State NE compete last season, she was coming off of an injury but you could tell that her recovery was going well. Miller is another prospect out of this Class that is committed to compete at Hasting and she can also really score the basketball. Miller understands pace of play, the best route of attack against an opponent, and situational basketball. Not to mention, she is very skilled. She is fast with a high level of athleticism than most and that’s accounting for her coming off of a surgery. If she steadily works on improving her efficiency at the next level, she could thrive. She is the type of talent that I could imagine seeing the floor as a Freshman but we will just have to wait and see how it plays out.

Josilyn Miller Josilyn Miller 5'9" | CG Verdigre Public School | 2024 State NE is coming off of a year where she had a season-ending injury but that hasn’t stopped her from continuing on her path of success on the hardwood. Miller is a playmaker and a swifty orchestrator for her team when she has the basketball. She displays a smooth dribble, a quick first step going either way, and a superior mixture of touch/balance. Whenever she gets downhill and is attacking her opponents, she understands to go through their hips at a tight angle and to use the rim as protection once she gets there. Some players have that “it” factor and from everything I’ve seen, Miller is one of those. No matter the situation, she makes things happen when she has time and space. If she doesn’t have time or space, she does a great job of creating it herself or dishing it off to an open teammate for an easy look at the basket. Looking forward, I know that Miller does have a few options as to where she could take her talents after this season. I’m not sure where she is going to end up but she can hoop and I expect her to produce wherever that may be.

While we are just kicking off the season for all-intensive purposes, there has been a lot of production throughout the state by a ton of different players. Someone that has stayed consistent in all facets of the game at the guard position is Josilyn Miller Josilyn Miller 5'9" | CG Verdigre Public School | 2024 State NE of Verdigre High School. Miller is a collegiate level talent, who is a difference maker on the court in more ways than one. On most nights, Miller is setting the tone for everyone else on the floor. Offensively she is making hustle plays, demonstrating top tier skill moves, all while getting her teammates involved every chance she gets. Defensively, a good amount of the time she is distributing the opposing teams offense with her witty tactics. By my assessment, Miller is a D2 player right now. She could provide for a successful program now and in the near future. No doubt about it.

You want to talk about someone who is physically dominance, a high motor, and no quit, look no further. Miller is putting on a show every game that she competes in. I would say out of the entire state of Nebraska, Miller is one of the more coordinated and calculated players with her actions out there on the court. She knows what spots she wants to get to on each take and doesn’t take no for an answer from her defender. I think Miller can move up these rankings come December’s update, she is surely good enough, I just need to see dominance early on in this high school season. Something that I’m sure is always on Miller’s mind when she is lacing them up.

Three level scorer. Physical. Fast. Athletic. These are all terms Josilyn Miller Josilyn Miller 5'9" | CG Verdigre Public School | 2024 State NE is used to hearing about her game and I would have to agree. Miller is a special talent. A player who can change the outcome of a game in a hurry while being the ultimate team player. Her physical and aggressive demeanor on offensive is calculated. She doesn’t always use her speed and power to score over weaker player but has a plethora of skill moves to get the open look she wants. She doesn’t favor any specific move on offensive when looking to score, instead she does a great job of switching it up, keeping her defender on their toes. Keep an eye on Miller come this summer for high school ball and into their regular season once school takes off. She is a player who is going to light it up in her final high school campaign this winter.

One of the most prolific scorers in the 2024 class, Josilyn Miller Josilyn Miller 5'9" | CG Verdigre Public School | 2024 State NE of Niobrara-Verdigre is having quite the start to her junior year. The 2024 guard can score in bunches and is a savvy, high-IQ guard who can play on both ends of the court. Miller averages 22 points, six rebounds, and three steals this season while tallying her 1000th career point in just her sixth game in her junior season. As a 5’8 guard, Miller can score the ball at all three levels and does a great job running the point guard. A tight handle, coupled with speed and quickness make for some tough nights for her opposition.

She has a quick trigger and pull up from anywhere on the court and shoot with efficiency. Miller put pressure on defenders and was not afraid to mix it up near the rim to fight for rebounds and putbacks. Verdigre has a budding star on their court and fans will have a lot of fun watching her fill a score sheet.
