that hasn’t already been said, especially after helping Earle seek revenge in the 1A title game, eclipse 1,000 points, and earn all-conference and all-state in every season she has played in high school.
Jefferson is truly an elite player, who will have this Bulldog offense all to herself this coming year. She can score any way she wants, as she is an unstoppable shooter who can pour it on from beyond the arc and the mid-range. She is also a great interior scorer, who can finish over any defender.
Enough can’t be said about Jefferson’s passing and defense. Jefferson is a great floor general who is looking better and better every season. The guard’s defense is horrifying for the other team. She is in the grill of every opposing guard, hands in their face, and is liable to force a turnover.

has been great for so long, already being a 3-time all-conference and all-star performer, as well as surpassing 1,000 points in her career. The thing is, she is not done yet.
Jefferson is practically unstoppable with the ball in her hands. She can make defenders look silly with her great handles, and she uses that to either get to the basket or to step back and nail a jumper. Speaking of jumpshots, she is going to hit every good look from outside she gets, whether off the catch or off the dribble.
The junior continues to develop in other areas of basketball, including playmaking. She has great vision, and she knows where her teammates are at all times. On the other end, Jefferson is a tenacious defender, and opposing ball-handlers are hopeless when she is on them, as there is a great chance they will lose the ball.

High Energy Scoring Guard. Journey started the game in the point guard spot. She eventually moved off the ball. She can create to get herself shots. If she is given any room, she is shooting the 3. She knocked down 2 corner threes from both corners early in the game. Defensively, she is anticipating to get steals.

Deep 3 point shooting combo guard. She can play the PG or SG spot. At the point, she has to be guarded above the 3 point line because she can knock it down from deep. I have her down for an impressive 4 of 6 threes at 67%.

Earle has arguably the best starting backcourt in the state, but for this article, I am going to focus on the younger of the Earle guards,

Jefferson has had a great offseason with the Tennessee Flight, averaging 16.7 points, 3.0 assists, and 2.0 steals per game during the EYBL Nike Nationals. Colleges have started to take notice of her play as well, as she has picked up offers from UCA, Morgan State, and Tennessee-Martin.
Jefferson is a lights-out shooter who can also create shots at an elite level. Her handle is killer, and she can get to any spot on the floor to score. She can make plays for others, but she is at her best when she has her defender on an island, being able to get buckets in a variety of ways. Jefferson is also an elite defender, playing with a lot of heart and aggression on that side of the ball.
Earle has its sights set on the 1A title, and

It is sometimes hard to believe that though Earle is a 1A school, it has two players in the top 5 of their class: Jada Maples at #2 in the 2026 class and now

at #4 in the 2027 class.
Jefferson was an incredible scorer during the 2024-25 season, but she is turning heads with her defensive play. She does not give up on any play, diving on the floor after loose balls and looking to chase down her opponent if they somehow beat her along the perimeter.
Jefferson has also proven that she can draw charges at a high level. For the opposition, it is an annoyingly high level, and I imagine she will carry over her success with that into the next season with Earle.

is the other star guard on this Earle team and she has already started the playoffs with some incredible performances.
Jefferson is coming off a 27-point semi-final outing. The sophomore scored 16 of her points in the second half, along with nailing 4 3-pointers. When she has that shot going from outside, there is absolutely nothing the defense can do about it. Of course, you do not have D1 offers if you are only a shooter.
Jefferson has a deadly handle and she is able to get by her defender with ease. There are few players who can actively stop her once she sees a lane to the basket, as she will finish through contact. On the other side of the ball, Jefferson will rack up multiple steals a night, thanks to her active hands and high defensive IQ.
Earle has a lethal backcourt. You have to pick your poison between

and the number one player in the 2026 class, Jada Maples. Earle’s playoff run will be dictated by the play of both of these young stars, but let us stick with talking about the superstar sophomore.
Jefferson has already surpassed 1,000 career points and she was recently named 1A-3 all-conference. Once she has her shot going from outside, there is no defender in the state who can stop her. If the defense does decide to close out on the perimeter, she can simply drive past them and get to the bucket.

is one of the best players in the entire state and she is so fun to watch. Greers Ferry Westside and Jasper look like early favorites to win the 1A title, but do not count out Earle, because with this guard helping lead the way, no team is safe.

is an elite prospect who just recently picked up an offer from Arkansas State. She has torched every defense she has faced, on both the high school and AAU scenes.
Jefferson is off to a great start this season, like that is any surprise. Jefferson is a born scorer who will sneak her way into the lane and finish against heavy defensive pressure. She knows how to create her own shot, and she uses her deadly handle to get to any spot on the floor in order to pull up and drain a jumper. Jefferson is a knock-down shooter from mid-range and three, but she is unselfish and can dish to her teammate to turn a good shot into a better shot.
Jefferson always plays with her eyes up and runs the offense perfectly. She waits for the play call from her coach, then will set up a play for herself or for her teammates. On the flip side, Jefferson will do whatever she can to disrupt the opponent’s offense. She plays hounding defense and strips the ball to take it down the other way. A lot of Jefferson’s points come from her work on the defensive end.

may be at #4, but she has potential to be the best player in the class of 2027. Frankly, any of the positions in the top 5 are up for grabs. Regardless of who occupies those positions, Jefferson will more than likely stay in the top 5, continuing to assert herself as not only one of the best players in the class, but one of the best players in the state.
