Kaelyn’s all-out effort, determination, hustle, and two-way impact stood out on Saturday at the PGH MI College Tour III. She pressured the ball sideline to sideline and worked extremely hard to close driving lanes with her quick feet. Kaelyn sprinted back in transition to force a miss on a breakaway layup attempt and pushed the ball up the court with pace after securing a defensive rebound to earn a trip to the line. She knocked down both free throws. Kaelyn kept moving on the offensive end, making smart backdoor cuts. She drove by with a burst to score a layup and got to the rim again for a bucket after swiping the ball away. Kaelyn will be a prospect to follow this spring with 1 Nation Elite 15U P32.

Kaelyn’s athleticism, quick feet, lockdown defense, aggressive downhill scoring ability, and developing perimeter game give her a high ceiling as a guard prospect. Her muscular build and two-way impact made a great impression at our Freshman Showcase, while she continued to stand out for East Kentwood in her first high school season.

Kaelyn is going to be a special guard prospect in the East Kentwood basketball program. Her lateral quickness caused a travel violation, and she maintained a textbook athletic stance on defense. Kaelyn delivered a buzzer-beating three-pointer to end the first quarter, scored a speedy left-handed layup in transition, and buried a jumper on the wing. She led the Falcons with 10 points and had a great day at the West Michigan Hoop Summit.

Kaelyn played with a relentless effort and determination that made her impossible to miss at the Freshman Showcase. Kaelyn applied tremendous pressure on perimeter guards, which forced off-target passes. She swiped the ball away clean multiple times and kept the ball contained with her fast lateral footwork. Kaelyn dove on the floor to secure 50/50 balls and played off two feet very well around the basket. She blew by a defender with a quick crossover, spun, and scored a tough step-through floater. Kaelyn pushed a ball up the court with pace after a steal to earn a trip to the charity stripe, accelerated downhill to score a layup, and threw an excellent entry pass into the post. Kaelyn’s impact in every category earned her recognition as a Top Performer at the Freshman Showcase.

Kaelyn was one of my favorite surprises at the Freshman Showcase, and she reminded me of why I love this event. You never know when a new face is going to show up and stand out–that’s exactly what Kaelyn did with Team 6. Her effort was unstoppable on the court. If the ball was up for grabs, she was chasing it down and on the floor, going after it. Kaelyn attacked gaps with an explosive burst to score several layups throughout the day. She battled to secure rebounds and applied relentless ball-pressure on defense. Kaelyn does it all, and I’m excited to see her make an immediate impact at the high school level this winter.
