Kaiah separated herself at The Compound open gym. Her shifty slashing abilities, facilitating, second gear, and ability to hit the outside jumper stood out. If it’s not broken, don’t fix it. Kaiah got her defender to bite on a pocket dribble hesi, then blew by for a layup. It worked once, so she went right back to it for another blow by layup. Kaiah showed her confidence as a three-point threat, sinking a deep straightaway three, another three up top, relocated to wthe wing for a triple, and swished a filthy crossover step-back jumper from the wing. She slashed to the hoop at will and I made a note of many split-drive layups. Kaiah used effective pivots inside to score in traffic, including a layup off a spin pivot and a crafty under-the-arm contested finish. She’s a point guard ready for a big junior year at Dakota.

Kaiah was in the groove for Macomb Dakota at Oakland Team Camp. She created space with quick, shifty crossovers and pocket dribbles to score drive-by layups, then turned up the heat on defense with her aggressive ball pressure. Kaiah ripped the ball away for a steal in the backcourt, then took it right to the basket for two points. Kaiah shot the ball confidently in the mid-range and beyond the arc. She drained a smooth triple from the wing and a pull-up off the bounce.

Kaiah has opened her sophomore season with energy and impact for Macomb Dakota, quickly establishing herself as a problem for opponents on both ends of the floor. She brings constant pressure defensively, using quick hands and anticipation to force turnovers and turn defense into offense. On the other end, Kaiah shows confidence from long range and the awareness to move the ball to open teammates, making her a well-rounded guard who influences the game in multiple ways.
