Sophia is an under-the-radar guard who gave me plenty of reasons to keep her on my radar at the PGH Michigan Freshman Showcase. The Team 9 guard showed a natural feel for creating for others, consistently playing with her head up and seeing the floor well. In transition, she pushed the pace while surveying the floor and delivered some impressive passes to teammates in stride. Sophia was just as effective creating in the half court, using her shifty handle to attack the lane, draw multiple defenders, and recognize when to get the ball to the open teammate. She also showed some craft as a scorer with a nice step-through move and brought extra effort on the glass, using her quickness to track down offensive rebounds. Her combination of court vision, ball handling, playmaking, and feel for the game makes Sophia a freshman prospect worth keeping an eye on as she continues to develop.

Sophia showed her ability to create for both herself and her teammates during the 5v5 portion of the PGH Michigan Freshman Showcase. The Team 9 guard is shifty with the ball and used a nice step-through move to work her way through the defense. Her court vision also showed in the half court, where she attacked the lane, drew multiple defenders, and found the open player once the defense collapsed. Sophia stayed active away from the ball as well, using her quickness to track down offensive rebounds and create extra possessions.

Sophia, a point guard for Michigan Goonies, stood out with her poise and understanding of the game. She consistently directed traffic on both ends, communicating with teammates and keeping everyone organized. Her handle allowed her to control the pace and create opportunities, while her ability to knock down multiple shots from beyond the arc kept defenses honest. She also made an impact defensively, jumping passing lanes for several steals and applying pressure on the ball. As a passer, she showed great vision, delivering accurate reads and setting up teammates in scoring positions throughout the game.
