She consistently got past defenders off the dribble, putting pressure on the defense and creating opportunities. Kassidy also showed good vision, delivering solid passes and setting up teammates. Kassidy was the best point guard on the court during my time watching 17U games at Jamfest on Saturday. She changed gears and weaved past defenders using shifty dribbles. Kassidy was either scoring layups or getting to the free-throw line. She used a quick crossover to score a left-handed layup and made extra passes to open teammates when the defense converged. Kassidy buried a corner 3, dropped in a soft floater off the dribble, and used her quick hands to create steals. A point guard who scores downhill, shoots with accuracy from the perimeter, forces turnovers on defense, and makes smart passes is a weapon for Lady FVV 17U NXT.

Kassidy was an effective distributor, scorer, and defensive presence for Renni at the Laker MLK Classic on Saturday. She pressured the ball to create steals and made a great extra pass assist on a drive to the basket. Kassidy scored a layup off a steal, drilled a straightaway 3, and added a smooth step-back 3 from the wing. She is a scrappy bullet point guard who makes plays that give the Lady Phoenix an edge on both ends.

Cain is a freshman to keep an eye on in Michigan. She brings energy, effort and intensity. And she does it on both sides of the floor. Cain can knock a ball loose from an opposing guard, and is more than willing to hit the floor to secure it for her team.

Kassidy has had a strong spring and added another feather to her cap at MSU Team Camp on Wednesday. She created steals with her pressure and finished layups in transition. Kassidy threw a great lead pass over the defense for a transition layup. She stole the ball, pushed the ball, and buried a corner 3 in transition. Kassidy has immediately made an impact with Renaissance at the Varsity level this summer and we hope to see her at our Freshman Showcase on August 25th.
