Geurink attacks the hoop with authority and can finish through contact. She was crashing the boards hard and came away with many offensive rebounds. She was a top defender at the camp. SVSU college players coached the 5×5 teams, and when prompted by their coach, she was chosen as a top performer.

Geurink utilizes her height to her advantage on the defensive end of the court. She was able to get blocks, deflections, and steals during both the 3×3 and 5×5 portions of the camp. Coach Pruett took notice and recognized her as a defensive stopper!

greatly impressed on both ends of the court at the MBA Mother’s Day Classic. Her strength and discipline inside to defend top forwards caused missed shots and helped her team win. She finished with powerful attempts off two feet at the rim all day and would not be denied on the offensive glass. Kaitlyn caused havoc stealing the ball away many times and demonstrated the control to score with a full speed left at the rim. Kaitlyn has the range to shoot outside and used an impressive rip move to score in the low post. One of her wow moments happened when she set a screen and sprinted hard to the paint to catch and convert a layup off two feet. She blocked shots and set herself apart as one of Michigan’s best forward prospects because of her physicality and strength defending in the toughest possible matchups. Kaitlyn’s dominance on both ends proved she belongs with the best (MOI, Undecided).

Geurink is playing with MBA and she has proven to be a player to watch. Geurink has the ability to score with her back to the basket as well as facing the rim. She looks very comfortable working left to right in both situations. Geurink is crafty with the ball once she gets it and has tremendous body control when she makes a move to the rim. She can be a volume scorer without being ball heavy.

As a sophomore, Geurink played a significant role for her Hamilton team, but I believe her importance will only increase this season to stay atop the conference standings. She will use her versatility to get buckets. Look for a big junior season for Kaitlyn.
