She is skilled and has fantastic touch around the rim. Brinkley also uses her body to hold off her opponent on the defensive glass. Kara Brinkley was excellent all season for East Burke including playing all out in the state championship game. She does it all for her team getting inside for rebounds and battling against everyone in the paint for some points. She is constantly moving on offense finding the open looks scoring on every level. Her IQ is apparent on the other end, too, as she predicts what her opponents will do jumping in front of passes to push these steals the other direction.

Kara Brinkley was attacking the basket absorbing contact and getting to the rim. She made sure to connect on free throws as the only way that seemed to stop her was fouling her. She made sure to grab rebounds for her team on both ends. She anticipated what her opponents would do while playing defense sliding into help blocking shots. She hit a big three point bucket giving her team some energy that they needed in the first half. She even grabbed a nice defensive rebound, busted out dribbling the ball for her own outlet, and made the full court pass to her teammate cutting to the basket.

Kara Brinkley’s East Burke team is continuing their undefeated season, and you can see why with the way she has improved in pretty much every statistical category since her already impressive freshman season last year. She can score on all levels on offense doing the work without the ball to get the open look, or she can score off the dribble attacking the basket battling contact. She gets inside going after rebounds on both ends of the court making plays off of these right away, and she is sure to grab some steals away from her opponents.

She can swing the ball making some fakes or using some up and under moves to score off the glass. She doesn’t back away from contact inside, and she can step around the perimeter to knock down her shot. She knows how to get the right pass into her teammates hitting them in stride.
