Head Coach Tyler Larson stated, “Kara is a lethal shooter. She can hit from outside but can also finish crafty shots around the rim. She has a great ability to get open off the dribble and knock down the three. She draws the opposing team’s best defender every game, including junk defense and double teams, to try to slow her down. Kara still finds ways to get it done.” Kara is currently in the MHSAA record books for three pointers made in a season with 74 as a sophomore (23-24) and 70 as a junior (24-25). She’s made 77 as a senior in 22 games. Kara will also etch herself in the MHSAA record books for threes made in a career. She reached 1,000 career points as a junior. Kara has 11 games this season with 4 or more three pointers made, averaging 18.5 ppg, and leading her team in this category. Kara guided Baraga to a 19-3 record and the number one seed in their district.
Coach Larson shared that, “Kara helped lead the team to multiple dramatic finishes this season. The ball is in her hands at the end of the game when we need a bucket. A clutch player who lives for the big moment. She hit a buzzer-beater three from deep to take down Hancock earlier this season. She helped our team climb the rankings throughout the season as one of the top in Division 4. A true leader and competitor on the floor, Kara has earned a spot on UW-Eau Claire’s team for next season. They are getting a steal with Kara as one of the best ball handlers and purest shooters in Michigan”.
Having seen Kara play multiple times in person, I completely agree with Coach Larson. Kara shot up our rankings and proved herself to be a top ten point guard prospect in Michigan. She was underrecruited and would be considered in the same category as other D2 point guards in this class had she played downriver. Kara received Copper Mountain Conference Elite-Team honors as a sophomore, junior, and senior. She earned All-UP, AP All-State, and BCAM’s best honors as a junior. Coach Larson added, “Being one of the smallest enrollments in the state, Kara provides an elite skill set and big play ability to keep Baraga on the map!”

Kara is putting together an impressive senior season and showing exactly why she’s headed to UW–Eau Claire at the next level. Known for her ability to heat up in a hurry, she consistently stretches defenses with her perimeter shooting and has already posted multiple games with four or more three-pointers. Her confidence from deep and quick release make her a constant scoring threat, and she’s delivering night after night as one of her team’s offensive leaders. With her production and shooting touch on full display, Kara is finishing her high school career in a big way.

Kara is an absolute steal for the UW-Eau Claire Women’s Basketball program. Hidden above the Mackinac bridge in the small town of Baraga, Kara is a prospect many missed during the recruiting process, but we did not. She came whirling through our PGH Live Tournament like a hurricane in 2024 and has continued to blow us away. After a stellar junior season, her defining moment came in head-to-head matchups against some of the top point guards in this class during the MBA Mother’s Day Classic. Kara was the most impactful player on the court for Zero Star 17U against the best teams and proved she belonged with the elite point guards in this class. Her twitchy quickness, finishing dexterity, court vision, shifty handles, deadly three-point shooting, confident swagger, and pit bull toughness on both ends are exactly why she moved into our top 30.

Kara is a Baraga point guard who has proven time and again that she belongs in the same elite category as the undersized guards who are highly ranked and recruited in the 2026 class. She erased all doubts with a showstopping performance in the spotlight against top competition at the MBA Mother’s Day Classic and provided more supporting evidence at the Zero Star Showcase. Kara has a deadly three-point shot. She was efficient during the three-point shooting drills and continued her sharpshooting during the games. Kara peaked at a screener up top and then launched a moon shot from the logo that ripped the net. She swished another deep three from well beyond the college line on the wing. Kara used crafty footwork to hit fadeaway jumpers and score against contesting defenders. She changed directions suddenly, using shifty combo dribbles, and converted impressive veer finishes off the glass. She caught a pass in transition, moved the defender with a jab step, and drove by to drop in a pizza pie floater at the rim. Kara was a Top Performer and has the defensive tenacity, fearlessness, elusive ball-handling, passing vision, three-point accuracy, finishing dexterity, and swagger needed to be successful at the college level.

Kara is a pit bull point guard who fearlessly attacks downhill and has phenomenal touch finishing tough shots around the basket in a crowd. She’s a sniper with college range from three-point distance and puts on a ball-handling clinic against pressure. Kara plays hard at all times, contributes to every statistic, and has outstanding court vision. Her performance against elite 2026 guards in May proved why she’s one of the best point guards in her class, and Kara is a Baraga prospect who will be a headliner in the gym at the Zero Star Showcase.

Kara had a golden opportunity to prove she belonged with Michigan’s best 2026 point guards–that’s exactly what she did with Zero Star 17U at the MBA Mother’s Day Classic. Kara was electric with her shifty crossover dribble combinations and pinpoint 3-point shooting off the bounce. Kara had the best floater game at the tournament, dropping in many with a soft touch and excellent footwork. She landed on two and used a step-through to finish against a defender, scored a crossover floater off the glass, and a jab step spin floater off the glass. Kara froze her defender with a hesi and crossed her over to score a layup, then blew by to score a straight line floater off the glass on the next possession. One of my favorite highlights from Kara was when she looked off her defender, staring into the distance, walked her down to the wing, and fired a quick shot off the dribble for three. Kara drained a volleyball line triple and added two more in that game–she has the confidence, competitive fire, and swagger you want in a lead guard. Kara should have her phone ringing off the hook after her performance on Saturday.

Kara is a shifty guard who has the speed to burn defenders with her crossover dribbles and bury triples with a quick release. She can stop on a dime and threw an excellent jump pass over her defender. Kara creates steals with her nose for the ball and led the Vikings in scoring with 15 points against Linden-Lake Hubbell. She showed off her 3-point accuracy by draining 5 triples from different spots on the court.

Kara Roberts was a new face who traveled a long way with Zero Star Basketball and proved why she is an elite CG prospect at PGH LIVE. Kara was the most efficient outside shooter at the tournament and she showed the balance to rain 3’s off the dribble and the catch. Kara has college range and at times completely took over the game with her accuracy from beyond the arc. Kara sees the floor very well and effectively reverses the court with either hand on her passes. Her ball handling to relieve pressure is crisp and she keeps her eyes up. Kara finishes contested mid-range jumpers and shots inside, while pressuring the ball with scrappy defense to create turnovers. She had an outstanding tournament and proved her value as a next level prospect.
