Karly Bryan Karly Bryan 5'7" | PG/CG China Spring | 2029 TX :  Karly has improved significantly in all facets of her game since 7th grade. When I talked to her dad after the second game, I said to him directly that Karly has really improved; she has gotten good.  Yesterday, I had the opportunity to witness all the hard work she puts in outside her team’s practice, in the training sessions she led during yesterday’s game.  Often, kids go to training and learn moves.  However, they don’t know when to use them in games.  Karly is different.  She led her team with precision, making the right change-of-direction move at the right time by driving to the basket when needed or setting her teammates up.

Her superpower right now is that she is not afraid to drive to the basket and attack.  Karly can handle the defensive pressure and go right at you.  Defensively, she really picked up in the second game, drawing a 5-second call, getting a couple of steals, and forcing a couple of turnovers. Otherwise, just being a menace on defense.

Bottom line: Karly is a tough-nosed, relentless competitor who translates her hard work directly into winning on the court. I am excited for Karly, and I can’t wait to watch her play this season.

Bryan is heady and showed something very important: she understands how to control the tempo while being pressured. You don’t know how important something so simple means a lot in the big picture, so her setting teammates up for good looks was nice, as was her attacking to score or dish. Another huge plus was the “on the ball” pressure she applied, as well as her quick hands to pick pockets
