Much has been expected from Kate for a long time: At Granite City, the 5’11 power forward delivered in a big way. Her performance in Friday’s game against Lakeville North was exceptionally strong. Hennessy was given a tough defensive assignment in guarding Panther posts

. Hennessy used her non-stop motor, physical strength, and rebounding prowess to help give the Cardinals the edge in the 66-52 win. On the other end of the floor, Kate led all scorers with 16 points. Her shot selection was tremendous, leading to an efficient performance. The Top 50 junior has improved a lot over the past couple of years, and she’s a crucial component for the Cardinals in their quest to return to the State Tournament for the third year in a row.

First time watching Kate play and I noticed she was always around the ball on both ends of the floor. An aggressive rebounder that was determined to gain the possession for the team. Long active hands on defense causing deflections that lead to turnovers. Moves well without the ball having hands ready for the drop and finish. Again first time watching her play so no highlights to go off of for offense but her 100% all in effort could not go unnoticed.
