Stayton sophomore Kathryn Samek Kathryn Samek 6'1" | SG/SF Stayton | 2027 State OR protects the paint, is an efficient scorer inside, and can hit from three. The 6-foot-1 forward was the top shot blocker at the 4A state tournament and was named to the 4A All-State First Team. Samek can drive strong and finish with a soft touch in the paint. She is an excellent on-ball defender, stays with her mark, and contests the shot. Samek averaged 15 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 3 blocks per game, helped the Eagles win the Oregon West Conference title, and earned an All-Conference First Team selection her sophomore year. The conference champion averaged 16.3 points (shooting 47%), 3.7 blocks, 2.7 steals, and 2 assists per game at the 4A state tournament, aided her team in winning the state championship title, and earned an All-Tournament First Team spot. The state champion jumped to No. 8 in the Prep Girls Hoops Oregon class of 2027 rankings.
