Tayla showed her ability to contribute in several areas of the game while competing with Team Liberty at the Headliners Invitational. Offensively, she displayed a nice perimeter touch, knocking down three-pointers from both the corner and the wing. She also made an impact around the basket, coming away with an offensive rebound and converting the putback for a second-chance bucket. Tayla did a good job competing on the glass throughout the event, showing her willingness to battle for rebounds and help her team secure possessions. Defensively, she demonstrated good anticipation by reading a passing lane and coming away with a steal. What I really liked about that play was how she immediately looked to create an opportunity for a teammate, delivering a nice pass ahead in transition. Her combination of outside shooting, rebounding and defensive awareness gave Team Liberty contributions on both ends of the floor.

Tayla has strength and length that make her a formidable opponent to match up against in the paint. She can step outside to hit the open three, play with her back to the basket, and win one-on-one battles for offensive rebounds, then score putbacks. Tayla protects the basket and will be on watch for a big performance on Sunday at the Headliners Invitational Showcase.

Tayla has length and skills that are going to make her an exciting addition to the Haslett program. She swished a confident wing triple during 3v3 and made plays that helped the team succeed during 5v5. Tayla closed out hard to cause missed shots, used backdoor cuts to create space, and made extra passes to open teammates. Her positive energy on the court set an example, and she’ll be a wing prospect to keep your eye on the next four years.
