Marissa Rimbert | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
Lengthy guard that can sit down and defend. Hanks’ nose over ball defense smothered guards on the perimeter. She pushes the ball out in the open floor and proves to be a good decision maker by knowing when to shoot the J or find her teammate to connect.

Hanks continues to impress me since I saw her dropping NBA range 3 pointers back in middle school, see evaluations here, but I’m all about “on the court” progression as she continues to show she’s more than a long ball threat. Yes, she’s a “long and athletic” guard, which is the base, but her court vision, as well as ballhandling under pressure, has shot up, as well as her scoring off the dribble and defending, which included playing the passing lane

Hanks has been dropping the long ball from deep since I caught her back in middle school, and the range she had back then told me she was going to be a problem. She’s a “long and athletic” guard who can also slice past defenders to score, but her “on the ball” pressure, both in the set as well as in transition, has shot up

Hanks is a “long and athletic” guard, which is the base and will always be. Her first step has gotten better and more effective because she can drop the jumper. If the defender gives her too much room, that’s a problem because she elevates and has a quick release. If she’s guarded too closely, she can get by them and score off the dribble. Her body control also looked good, especially after contact, and her defense both in the set as well as baseline-to-baseline was solid

Hanks wasn’t on the roster when I first caught her, well nobody was since one wasn’t turned yet no need to complain when something so simple can’t be done. In certain cases, I will ask, and here’s why see evaluation here. This is my initial look in high school and as usual, I was “on the money” so watching her create her shot and spacing to get it off was nice. Just for fun, she also gave me the “catch and shoot” for THREEEEEE
