In addition to earning all the top POY awards, Thornton has worked herself into being the top player in the Southwest District. Solid emotional floor leader with excellent guard skills, plays at a high level. An easy choice for first team! She is also our Division 1 Player of the Year.

Thornton came out from the very beginning owning the floor, and didn’t look back! The MVP of the game and future Akron signee was shooting 3’s like Larry Bird, and made the most important three of her career, sending Fairmont into overtime! Her light feet, suffocating defense, and handles- whew! She’s special! Kaylah finished with 19 points and 6 rebounds. (Featured Photo)

What an incredible senior season for this young lady, she spearheads a Fairmont offense that causes a lot of problems. They head into the postseason unbeaten, and Thornton is a major reason why. Great leadership skills and an ability to score the basketball in a variety of ways is a plus for this team. The Akron bound senior looks to spearhead a stretch that leads them to UD Arena.

Thornton is a pure scorer who demands great amounts of attention from the defense! The future Akron Zip is a sniper from deep and has the unwavering ability to attack the basket and score with ease! Thornton finished with 20 points and has continued to be the consistent threat that the Firebirds have needed in order to stay near the top of teams in the Ohio rankings! It’s no surprise that one of the best teams in the state has one of the top players in the state! Thornton should continue to shine and show why she is at the very top of her senior class!

Better drink an expresso for some energy if you want to have any chance of keeping up with Thornton’s game! Outstanding movement without the ball- always finding open seams to the basket. Pretty mid-range jumper- and that euro step is textbook worthy!

She can disrupt the passing lanes and has a great basketball IQ, she can control the game on both sides of the court. Her enormous wingspan which helps her receive many deflections which results in points on the other end. She’s able to run the floor, dish the ball to her open teammates, and play with outstanding court vision using no-look passes. She is incredibly athletic and a significant offensive threat to the opposing squad. She moves up in the updated rankings hitting the top 10 from number 12 to number 10.

She can control the game on both sides of the floor because she has a high basketball IQ and can interrupt the passing lanes. She gets a lot of deflections with her long wingspan. Able to play point, run the floor, and dish the ball with exceptional court vision and no look passes. She possesses excellent athleticism and poses a serious offensive danger to the other team. She makes the game look so easy with her skills! She has offers from Wright State, Murray State, and Ohio University. She moves up from number 13 to number 12.

She can anticipate plays and has a high basketball IQ, which gives her the ability to manage the game on both sides of the court. Able to pass the ball with outstanding court vision, as well as play point and manage the show. She is a huge offensive threat for the opposing squad and has great athleticism. She is such a natural leader as a sophomore. Great handles and plays the game with such ease, she sees the court well with great vision and distributes the ball very well. Physical kid who can handle that style of play. Has good quickness and a good first step to the rim. Good on-ball defender with active hands. She makes a three-spot jump to #14.
