Brandon Fisher | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
After a slow start for TC, Kelsey flipped the game with her speed and defensive pressure. She attacked the baseline for scores, delivered a drive-and-kick assist to Cote for a three, and converted a big and-one to close the first half. Her ability to get downhill created constant pressure, and defensively she sparked the press with steals and deflections that led to easy buckets. You simply can’t throw the ball near her without risk.

Sharpe has earned a reputation for her on-ball defense and ability to speed up opposing guards. She wreaks havoc up top, pressuring ball-handlers and forcing them into mistakes that often lead to steals for herself and for her teammates. Her speed and quickness allow her to cut off angles before opponents can react, turning simple possessions into layups for her team. Beyond just swiping the ball herself, she creates chaos that fuels her entire team’s defense. When Sharpe does get her hands on the ball, she’s explosive in transition — finishing layups off her steals with the same burst she shows on defense. Kelsey has moved up the rankings after being a primary leader and contributor on her high school team. She’s so quick and an absolute pest on defense with her ability to read the offense and get in every passing lane. Those steals lead to a lot of easy transition points for her and her teammates. Her quick first step and shiftiness with the ball in her hands make her very hard to contain, but you can’t sag off of her or she’ll knock down the 3 ball in your eye.
