Long and athletic at 5’10”, Young pairs her physical tools with a tenacious, gritty approach to the game. She embraces the dirty work. Diving for loose balls, forcing turnovers, and stepping into scoring opportunities whenever her number is called. She brings energy, versatility, and a noticeable impact on both ends of the floor.

It feels inevitable that Young will play a bigger role in the future. With expanded opportunities, her productivity and overall impact have the potential to rise significantly.

I talked about Kennedi Young Kennedi Young 5'10" | SF/CG King's Fork | 2028 State VA entering the summer as one of the elite 2028 talents to watch. She has had a solid summer and remains one of the best rising freshmen in the country. Kennedi is an elite two-way player with terrific size for a wing entering the 9th grade. She is versatile defensively and excels defensively one-on-one on the perimeter. Kennedi is a good athlete and a great driver. She has a reliable mid-range jump shot she gets to and does great in space. Kennedi is a complete basketball player, and she will make her impact at the high school level sooner than later.

I talked about Kennedi Young Kennedi Young 5'10" | SF/CG King's Fork | 2028 State VA a little over a month ago when I was talking about some incoming freshmen to watch. She is one of the best players in the state for the class of 2028. She is a great defender and an absolute playmaker on that side of the ball, forcing turnovers. Kennedi capitalizes off the turnovers she forces, getting a lot of easy transition points off of it. Kennedi is a talented scorer with a deadly mid-range game and, without a doubt, one of the premier players in the state for her class.

Kennedi Young is a player who argues for being the best player in the 2028 class in Virginia. Everything Kennedi does starts with her suffocating defense. Kennedi does a great job forcing turnovers with her length and anticipation. She gets easy buckets in transition from the turnovers she forces. She has a lovely jumper and gets many buckets using her mid-range. Kennedi’s game keeps improving, and I’m sure she will enter high school as a better player than she is today.

Complete do it all player that is getting better every time I see her! A versatile player that is a weapon on both ends of the floor. At 5’10 only in the 8th grade she can handle the ball, shoot and defend at a high level.
