Whenever Kennedy Goodheart has caught the rock the past couple of seasons from deep, she has converted at a higher rate than most others. She has made a ton of buckets from the outside throughout her career at Liberty and those buckets usually weren’t too close to the three point line. She was letting shots fly from 5-7 feet back whole still making easy work of things. Whenever she caught the ball her feet were always in the same spot compared to her shoulders, her stance was always dropped ready to fire away, and her release was picture perfect, which led to several three point makes over time. Goodheart will be attending Creighton, ideally joining their medical program as a full time student. She might not be playing hoops there at the next level but she is definitely going to be able to go back and be proud of all the memories she made throughout her career.

isn’t committed just yet but I’m sure that decision is coming down the pipeline the next few months. Goodheart is a SG with better than average size at 5’10. When you see someone set up for a shot like Goodheart does when she is launching it from deep, you know there is some promise there. We have ranked Goodheart as a D1 level shooter for years now and that still plays today. If we are talking about the 2026 Class in Iowa and shooting three’s, Goodheart is in the conversation for being the best in the State. That skill is going to carry her to the next level. Now it’s just finding out where that future home might be.

Goodheart is a D1 level shooter from behind the three point line. It does not matter where she is standing. If Goodheart has a moment to let it go with space, it’s going to have a good chance of going in and that was something that really fired up Liberty in this ball game. Things were slow to start, going back and forth between both programs but a constant for the Lightning was the shooting ability of Goodheart. She started off things from deep in the first half and she ended up finishing the ball game with 11 points on 2/7 shooting, including going 5/6 from the free throw line. This might not seem too crazy but it was needed to keep this one close early on, until others ended up stepping in and helping them secure the W.

This one may come as a surprise to some that know the Liberty program but I think that this team goes as far as Kennedy Goodheart can take them in a sense this upcoming season. This program has D1 committed prospects in hand, size at the post position, and a lot of skill throughout their program from top to bottom. On the Varsity floor, a lot of attention is going to go towards other prospects in the game plan to beat Liberty and that will be a mistake if they don’t plan for Goodheart. This is someone that has been talked to by D1 programs for years now and she plays like that as well so as long as the strategy is there by the coaching staff, I could see a year to remember out of Goodheart and company.

of Iowa City – Liberty High School has always had some interest to compete at the next level given the right circumstances and the older she gets, the more that seems likely to become a reality. Goodheart is a 5’9 guard, that can play on or off of the ball. She tends to play better when she can work off of a PG creating but she is also sound enough to make things happen while attack off the dribble. Not to mention, she can knock a lot of three pointers in a short amount of time if a defender doesn’t find her early on in a ball game. This past few months, Goodheart has taken some calls from Fresno State, along with some other Ivey league institutions. On this pace, she is going to end up getting a shot at compete within a D1 program, while also killing it on the school side of things and that’s something everyone can respect.

of Liberty High School. Goodheart is an interesting prospect, that we have mentioned a few times last season for her efforts on the Varsity floor. She is a Shooting Guard, that is a handful to deal with in the half court. She has decent size at 5’9, she can score at a high rate when she is playing confidently, she can produce on and off of the ball, she can defend others that are her size or even a little bigger, and she communicates at a higher rate then most out on the court in real time. When you add all of this together, you usually get a recipe for success. I know during last high school season she had some D1 programs with interest. If she continues to give it her all, she should still get some of those offers coming in over the next two years.

Starting us off in this article is a prospect that has a solid game from the Guard position with some nice size and wherewithal on the basketball court. The prospects that I am speaking about is

of IC Liberty High School. Goodheart is a special talent. She has size at 5’10-5’11 and she is a lethal scoring threat on the court. She has the ability to score while going to the rim once she gets down hill or she can step out and kick down some shots from deep when someone around her creates off of the dribble. Going into this past high school season, Goodheart has interested from a handful of D1 programs. I think that interest is going to stay consistent moving forward as long as she continues to produce. Her raw ability is evident. As long as she continues to understand situational basketball, she is going to shine when the lights are the brightest.

has a unique game on the hardwood. She makes a lot of things happen and is naturally gifted with the ball in her hands but this is another player where I want to see what her next level is. There is NO doubt that she is talented when it comes to Basketball but I want to know what her limits are at this point and I’m not so sure. During her High School season with Liberty these past few months, Goodheart started to really show her dominance more and more as the season progressed on. Demonstrating that she can be the main option to any fundamentally sound program. This Spring she will be with her

team for another go-around. If she takes care of her own and keeps her mind-set simple, she is going to continue to find more success.

Possesses all the intangibles, knowledge, and skill to be a memorable collegiate player in the future. On a Liberty team that has some hoopers, Kennedy Goodheart could turn out to be the best. Somethings in life you can’t teach to a certain extent. For example, someone’s natural ability to be able to understand live situations during a game and knowing what they should do in those situations. This example perfectly explains Goodheart’s game. She may not be the one to kill you with a flashy move but she is definitely going to kill you with fundamentals when she figures out your weakness. She understands herself, her role, and everything else in-between. While being a Sophomore in high school, there are only certain Division’s at the collegiate level that can contact her right now as it pertains to recruitment. I’m sure that once this season comes to a close and AAU ball starts back up, she is going to be receiving a lot of interest from every division. Prior to this high school season, I heard that a few prestigious Universities reached out in attempts to get her on campus in the near future. I’m not sure how that will all play out but if she is continues to work on the right things, she is going to continue to shine.

I have a feeling that Kennedy Goodheart is going to have a chance to see the floor a lot this winter at Liberty high school. Goodheart, who is a 5’10 shooting guard, brings a lot of positivity to the floor. She can do everything that is asked of her on offense while being a stout defender who understands her size really well. Currently, she sits at #23 in ours rankings for the 2026 class but that’s going to change. Goodheart is the type of player who could put it all together on the varsity floor really quick this next season and get really close to the Top 10. Will that happen? I’m not sure. Only time is going to tell, but until then, she is going to keep grinding and working at the craft she loves.
