Kenzy, a junior guard for Kent City, turned in an impressive performance in the district semifinals, making plays in a variety of ways. She attacked the basket with confidence, getting into the lane and finishing strong, while also knocking down a couple shots from beyond the arc. Kenzy was active on the glass at both ends, tracking down rebounds and helping her team gain extra possessions. Defensively, she even added a pair of blocks, showing her effort and versatility. Kent City will be counting on another well-rounded effort from her as they look to bring home another wooden mitten on Friday night.

Kenzy enters her junior season as one of Kent City’s most dynamic backcourt players, building off a strong year that earned her first-team all-conference honors. Her wingspan and anticipation make her a disruptive presence defensively, where she consistently challenges passes and alters shots. On offense, she excels at attacking off the bounce, using her stride and balance to get to the rim and convert. With her improving skill set and natural athletic tools, Kenzy is primed to make an even bigger impact for the Eagles this winter.

Freeland had an impressive day at The Mitten Summer Showdown. Despite being short a couple of players on her team, she remained unfazed. She aggressively attacked the hoop and finished effectively with both hands. Additionally, she demonstrated high-level rebounding from her guard position. Over the summer, she has ramped up her defensive intensity and is now able to effectively guard the other teams’ top guards. Expect a strong performance from Kenzy for the rest of July!

She has always been able to get to the rim with authority, but she has added range to her outside shot, knocking down multiple shots behind the arc. Her defensive tenacity has impressed me in her last few outings.
