Shelby was a sparkplug for Kent City at the Big North Shootout. Her all-out effort and hustle stood out. There was one series where Shelby put her body on the line twice, diving on the floor to secure the loose ball. She threw a great overhead entry pass to a cutter for an assist, and made a nice transfer to score a catch and finish layup. Shelby sprinted in to secure an offensive rebound, dribble out to the perimeter, and buried the open corner three. She used excellent technique to deny a cutter in the paint, deflecting the entry pass to create a steal. Shelby will be a key player in the backcourt this winter.

Shelby brought plenty of energy and defensive intensity to the floor for Kent City during the West Michigan Team Camp. The quick guard consistently created problems for opposing ball handlers with her instincts, active hands, and relentless effort on the defensive end. She came away with multiple steals, including one sequence where she poked the ball free, sprinted the floor, and finished in transition on the other end. Shelby’s scrappy style of play showed up throughout the event as she battled for loose balls and made hustle plays that don’t always show up in the box score. She also crashed the offensive glass effectively, creating extra possessions for her team. Her speed, toughness, and defensive impact helped her stand out during the two-day event.
