About Korletta
Expert Analysis
Bret Swanson | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
Daniels helped the Redhawks get to the Class 4A State Championship before falling to North Augusta HS. Korletta plays her best basketball in the attack mode to the basket. She does a nice job of stalking the baseline at times and sneaking out for cheapies in transition. Korletta plays very active in the passing lanes where she looks to pick up a few deflections and steals every night.
Korletta finished the season at 10.2 ppg, 4.3 rebounds, 2.3 steals and 2 assists.

As of this writing, Daniels has played in nine of the ten contests that the 4A Redhawks have competed in. The 10.2 points, 5.4 rebounds and 2.4 steals she has averaged thus far per contest have been key in Westwood jumping out to a fast 8-2 start. Daniels is an efficient floor runner and this can particularly show itself in transition. This past summer, Daniels landed an offer from Allen University. Also, this past summer was her final playing travel ball and she wore the uniform of SC Future. Daniels can find her way to the rim against a number of defenders and plays the game on contact which enables her to get to the free throw line.

Daniels’ final AAU season was spent wearing the uniform of SC Future and she is poised to translate that into a banner season to close out her high school career. She is a 5-foot-8 guard with plenty of rebounding ability and scoring ability. Daniels is also a consistent threat to collect steals and create additional possessions for her team. Her tenacity and fearlessness can show itself with her not being afraid to shoot the ball over taller defenders. Two other facets of the game that Daniels thrives in are getting out in transition and bringing a 3-point dimension to an offense. She also puts herself in position to grab rebounds.

Woods may get the Redhawks’ share of the attention at Westwood, but she did not do it all by herself by any means. She has a superb supporting cast that includes the 5-foot-8 small forward who, like many a Midlands standout, runs with SC Future on the grassroots circuit. Daniels recently received an in-state offer from Allen University. How she excels in the transition game is a strong point of what she does. Daniels also is unafraid of contact that can put her at the free throw line. Weaving through defenders is another thing Daniels does with excellence. Last season, she averaged 11.3 points, 5.1 rebounds and 3.4 steals last season at Westwood.

The 2023 rendition of Redhawks basketball will be defined in large part by its veteran core. That includes Daniels who has ran on the grassroots circuit with SC Future and picked up an offer from Allen University over the summer. She averaged 11.3 points, 5.1 rebounds and 3.4 steals last season for 4A Westwood. Daniels is unafraid to absorb contact and take her chances at the free throw line. Even when she sees a group of opposing defenders, Daniels understands how to find lanes to get to the rim and also excels as someone who can get out in transition.

Back in June, Daniels – another talented standout from the Westwood program – announced she received an offer from in-state Allen University. Daniels will enter the 2022-23 season following playing grassroots ball throughout the spring and summer with SC Future. One of her many strong suits can be found with what she does as a transition runner. Daniels knows naturally how to weave her way to the basket through a number of opposing defenders. She also is not afraid of contact, will take her chances at the free throw line and can throw a defense for a loop with her shooting ability. Daniels averaged 11.3 points, 5.1 rebounds and 3.4 steals last season for the Redhawks.

Korletta really excels in the transition game with her ability to slash to the basket. She has the ability to finish drives on contact to the rack. Korletta can keep the defense honest with a nice short mid-range game and ability to stalk the baseline.
