It would be naive to say that the big time players of the 2031 and 2030 Classes at Central DeWitt will be a vital piece to their program over the next few years, maybe even this year to be honest. I kind of ask myself, why not? They lose a lot and have some returners that produce but players like Kourtney Lake could step up to help them, even while she is in 8th grade this upcoming Winter. Lake checks off some boxes. Decent size, good hand-eye coordination, solid shooting stroke, fundamental footwork, and she doesn’t settle even though she is a mainly a SG. This new 8th grade rule is already throwing a wrench into programs all over the state as they have to decide what they are going to do as they move into the Winter season within the next month and a half. I’m sure for some it’ll be an easy choice but not for all.
