I’m expecting a big season from Phelan. She is a hooper, plain and simple. Three level scorer with dimensions to her game. Has great handle, protects the ball, and a quick first step and can create space for her shot from anywhere on the court. Her step back mid range jumper is a beauty and is close to unstoppable. She can run off screens and light it up from the perimeter. She is a confident and accurate shooter with a small hitch in her mechanics and lower than average release that she will need to fine tune for the next level.

There may not be a hotter shooter out there at the end of this AAU season than Kristen Phelan Kristen Phelan 5'9" | CG Tappan Zee | 2025 State NY . She picked up right where she left off in Louisville working as a long-range bomber for her Empire State Blue Flames 2025 team. She is excellent at spacing the floor and catches ready to shoot. You will routinely see her move her spot when balls go into the post so that on the kick out the defenders can’t locate her. When she catches, she wastes no time getting her shot off quickly over the closeout. Even in the rare instance where she misses a few, she is unfazed and shoots the next one with confidence. She plays with energy at both ends and some D1 school is going to get themselves an absolute sniper. She will bring her sweet stroke back to Tappan Zee High School for her junior year this winter.
