Elkhart Christian has made it to the Semi-State round each of the last two seasons, and their 2028 group is a big reason why. Kyla acts as their primary ball-handler most of the time, and she averaged 5.4 assists per game in 2025-2026. At the same time, she created havoc defensively (3.6 steals per game), and she kept defense honest, scoring 10.1 points per game. Kyla isn’t huge, but she has really nice length, speed & quickness, and she plays with a really nice motor and a quiet toughness.

Kyla continuously carved up the defense on her path to the rim in the 16U Gold Championship Game. She finished through contact and showed great capacity to convert shots from difficult angles. Kyla changed directions suddenly, had the ball on a string, threw great entry passes with touch over the defense into the post, closed out hard on shooters to force misses, and generated steals with her scrappy ball pressure. Kyla’s shifty moves and explosive burst going downhill resulted in several free throws. She knocked them down confidently from the line, barely disturbing the net. Kyla scored a sweet veer layup against a contesting defender and received Gold Championship Game MVP honors.

Kyla, a guard for 5Star Basketball , put together a strong showing during the MI College Tour III stop at Grand Valley State University with her ability to break down the defense and make smart decisions. She consistently attacked the lane, drew multiple defenders, and made the right reads to find open teammates. Her presence helped keep the offense organized, showing poise and control as a facilitator. She also delivered accurate entry passes into the post, making things easier for her teammates inside. On the defensive end, she competed with effort, using active hands to disrupt plays and come up with loose balls.

Kyla facilitates the game really well from her position. She can score, but she also does a great job of finding her teammates. She has excellent court vision and distributes well for easy bucket. Defensively she’s like a hawk out there, anticipates and reads well able to jump, intercept and score.
