About Skylee
Expert Analysis
Brandon Bradley | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
Skylee is still young enough to be learning the game and building her skillset, but she stands out almost immediately because of her incredible length, her ability to run up and down the floor at 6-feet tall, plus her bounciness. She is a very active front-liner who is always moving. She is a versatile defender who can sit down and guard the ball on the perimeter at times, but she can also slide over from “help” side and block shots/rebound. Offensively, she relies a lot on the penetration and passing of others, plus rebound putbacks, but her mid-post game is steadily improving.

Skylee made quite an impression on several coaches throughout the Spring. She is extremely long, bouncy, and very active. Defensively is where she creates the most problems right now, because while she’s about 6-feet tall, she plays about 6-feet-4-inches because of her length. She alters/blocks shots, and she’s able to rebound above other players. Offensively, she is still figuring out whether she’s most comfortable in the mid-post or around the block, but she has the mobility to play away from the hoop. As she gets stronger, she could be a real problem.

Skylee stands out almost immediately because she’s extremely long, tall, and bouncy. Once she finishes growing and adds a bit more strength, it will definitely help her absorb contact and finish through it at the rim. She has some skill in the mid-post, but she still looks most comfortable closer to the basket. She is a nice athlete in transition, and she can get out and rim-run well against her matchups. She’s also a highly effective shot-blocker and she alters even more shots than she gets her hands on.

Skylee has length, skill, and a high motor that shouts college potential. Her impact in the 16U Gold Championship Game helped 5 Star Basketball take home the hardware. She scored a strong and-one layup at the rim and immediately celebrated her teammate’s assist after a smooth catch and finish on a basket cut. Skylee used her length to corral ball-handlers, worked hard to cut off drives, was aggressive as a rebounder, and attacked with a burst to score a drive-by layup.
