In a region matchup against Oldham County super sophomore Kylee Steffen Kylee Steffen 5'9" | CG Owen County | 2026 State KY poured in a career-high 25 points leading Owen County to victory 72-50. Steffen is off to a hot start and the Lady Rebels are 1-1 on the season.

Kylee is part of a tough and veteran Owen County roster that has as good of a chance as any team in the 8th of winning the region. Steffen is a dependable third offensive option for the Lady Rebels but if she can get hot from three, Owen can beat anyone in the 8th region on any night.

Steffen is a very promising 2026 prospect. She’s got good strength, a high basketball IQ, and she does a lot of the little things that require pure effort. When the ball isn’t in her hands, she does a great job of moving and finding the gaps on the floor. Steffen makes good fakes to get the defense off of their feet, and she makes great drives to the basket. She can take contact and she can bring physicality defensively. She can guard nearly any position and she reads the passing lanes well to come up with steals. Steffen puts in the work and that is obvious when you watch her play. Her shooting percentages early on this season also speak to how smart she is as a player. She’s shooting 57.9% overall and 62.5% from 3.

Steffen has a solid skillset. She can handle the ball, she has a variety of moves to turn to, and she can score at the rim or further out. She is strong and has a good shot.
