With the High School season now in full swing I will be providing weekly updates of players that are putting up big numbers. Below are my “Top Performers” from Week One of the season.
After suffering a season-ending injury last year, freshman forward Claire Marshall Claire Marshall 5’10” | SF West Jessamine | 2027 State KY looks healthy and back at the top of her game. She had a dominant performance in a tough loss against South Laurel 52-55. Her stat line was 32 points, 21 rebounds, 4 assists, 4 steals, 2 blocks. Marshall was also very effecient, she went 10-14 from the field, 3-3 from deep and made 9 out of 12 of her free throws. West Jessamine is 1-2 and looked to bounce back at the Billy Hicks Classic this week.
Highlights
Ashtyn Barrett Ashtyn Barrett 5’6″ | SG Bath County | 2024 State KY is on pace to be one of the top scorers in the state. In the first game of the season she dropped 30 points helping her team get the win over Bourbon County 61-45. She then put up 20 points in the second game against Nicholas County. But Barrett wasn’t done yet, she finished the week with a 29 point outburst in a win against East Carter. In just 3 games into the season she has surpassed 2,000 career points, becoming the all-time leading scorer at Bath County High School. The Lady Cats are now 3-0 to begin the season.
Highlights
Jaelee Knowles Jaelee Knowles 5’10” | SF Frederick Douglass | 2027 State KY led the way for Frederick Douglass in a early season district win against Scott County 77-37. She had a team-high 25 points along with 8 rebounds. She showed that she can be a threat from the perimeter, 9 of her 25 points came from downtown. Knowles also put up a double-double against Simon Kenton at the Hoops 4 Harvest, finishing with 17 points and 11 rebounds. Her versatility will make a difference for Douglass as the season goes along.

Charlotte McCurry
Charlotte McCurry is making her claim as one of the top 2029 prospects in the state. In her first Varsity start as a 7th grader she had 19 points along with 4 rebounds, and 5 steals. She then dropped a team-high 24 points, had 4 steals and snagged 2 rebounds in a 78-10 victory over Caverna. John Hardin has a very talented roster and they start the season 3-0.
One of my 2024 Uncommitted Prospects Jeannae Bolin Jeannae Bolin 5’10” | C Pleasure Ridge Park | 2024 State KY is off to a terrific start. In the season opener against Doss she had 21 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, and 5 steals. She followed that performance with 22 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals. PRP improves to 2-1 on the season.

Mikyra Caudill
Mikyra Caudill
Mikyra Caudill is a name that we will be remember at Powell County High School for a very long time. In a 56-23 win over Jackson City she had a record setting performance with a rare quadruple double, Caudill had 13 points, 10 assists, 15 rebounds, and 10 steals.
After seeing her play a few times over the summer I knew that Myiesha Smith Myiesha Smith 5’5″ | PG Paducah Tilghman | 2026 State KY was in for a big sophomore season. She dropped a career-high 32 points in the second game of the season in a loss to Carlisle County 49-59. If she keeps up this level of play Smith could climb to the top of the 2026 rankings list by the end of the season.
In a region matchup against Oldham County super sophomore Kylee Steffen Kylee Steffen 5’9″ | CG Owen County | 2026 State KY poured in a career-high 32 points leading Owen County to victory 72-50. Steffen is off to a hot start and the Lady Rebels are 1-1 on the season.

Faith Mosley
The phenom and ultra talented Faith Mosley went off for 25 points, had 8 assists, 5 rebounds, and 4 steals helping Grace James Academy get the win in the schools first ever Varsity game.
