Senior for Midway High School does not let her height of 5’6″ limit her game whatsoever.

Cawood at the guard position is an extremely good rebounder. She is great at cutting in front of opposing players when a shot goes up to get good positioning. Her willingness to play through contact also helps her in being a good rebounder.

As far as her offensive game goes, she is an amazing shooter from deep range. She can shoot it from any spot around the arc and has the ability to shoot it from way beyond the line.

Cawood is going to go against a lot of teams at the next level that overlooked her. She is going to make every single one of the pay to. This kid should have a list of offers! I would love Cawood to run my offense at the next level if I was a coach. She leads with her entire heart, and she plays the game like it should be played! Kyleigh is incredibly smart on and off the court. She does whatever she needs to do to put her team in a position to win. Check out a few of her highlights:

Cawood’s game translates to the next level! She can be a true point guard, and facilitate the rock! She can also score the ball at a high clip. She’s efficient and consistent! She has elite court vision, and she doesn’t miss an open teammate! She continues to play with an extremely high motor! She crashes the boards hard on both sides of the court. She’s a poised leader with exceptionally quick decision making on the court. Defensively, she does a great job jumping passing lanes, and picking up steals! Cawood is going to continue to thrive this AAU season before her senior year!

Cawood was exceptional! She’s a consistent, efficient athlete that plays the game the right way. Kyleigh was scoring from all three levels. She crashed the boards hard the entire game. She picked up numerous offensive rebounds for her team. Defensively, she does a great job hounding opponents and getting 5 second calls. Offensively, she does a great job of penetrating the gaps. She continues to have elite court vision. She can score at will! She continues to show every reason why she is the MVP!

In Cawood fashion, she led her team to another victory. Kyleigh is a vocal leader that plays the game the right way! The Lady Waves came out on top against Harriman 62-59. In the contest, Cawood poured in 27 points, 5 steals, and 4 assists. This is an impressive stat line for any athlete and Cawood can put up numbers like this against anyone. She continues to excel at many different aspects of the game. She’s a tenacious defender. She’s extremely ball savvy. She is incredibly unselfish and she continues to be an excellent two-way player!

The Midway guard put up huge numbers as a sophomore: 17 points and 7 rebounds a game. She’s a big time player across multiple statistical areas. While she can score from all three levels, her court vision and passing off the defensive imbalances she creates is what sets her apart. She’s shifty and and score in the mid-area in multiple ways, or kicks to shooters when she draws help. Big time rebounder from the wing. Defends multiple positions as well.

Caywood had a DOMINANT sophomore year leading Midway back to postseason prominence.  Every time I looked at their boxscores, you couldn’t help but notice her impact across the stat sheet.  She’s basically a high level kid in every area.  Leading Midway to a 23-6 record, the sophomore will enter her junior year with 828 points. True scorer that has proven it against high level competition in AAU. She’s legit.

One of the best point guards that you are going to find in this 26′ class! Period! She is an incredibly high IQ athlete that is an extremely savvy lead point guard. Kyleigh continues to make players around her better. She makes the correct reads on the floor and she is a coach’s dream! She seems to always be composed and never rattled. You would never know if her team is down 20 or up 20 by the way she plays. She plays with the utmost effort at all times, and she does what is needed for her team. If you are looking for a true point guard that can also score, Kyleigh is one to call. She’s another talented athlete that will be at the Run 4 the Roses event!
