Labrea is well traveled in the high school basketball road and with that she comes in with experience in different coaching styles. This should pay dividends as I expect her to be the main players at the upstart Digital Pioneers Academy. She will have her opportunity to carry a program, which is a heavy load but I’m thinking she will be ready for the task. She will probably be ask to play all five positions on offense and guard the other teams best player on defense. We haven’t seen Labrea’s full potential yet but the season looks promising.

Labrea finished drives well and and was the main scorer in a slow start for the Beltway Squad. She was effective at multiple positions and played really good interior defense. She is now playing at the Digital Pioneers Academy.

LaBrea’s three pointer was falling and you could tell she was getting in her zone. She had her windup on her approach and you knew something special was about to happen. She worked her bag of moves and counter moves and a sprinkle of eurosteps on her way to the rim. Her game is rapidly maturing which is perfect timing as she will be the leader at her new school this year. If everything is clicking like it was at the expo she will be fine.

She likes to be called LB and so we will call her LB. Sometimes players and media will get caught up in nicknames and college coaches will miss them on the roster especially when you’re on your third school in three years. LB, however, should be just fine as she is a top ten prospect with loads of talent. She checks all the boxes that you want to have when creating a player on NBA2K. She drives with power and has a nice touch on her pull-up jumper. She is athletic with a great body and when her outside shot is falling their is nothing a defender can do except hope she gets tired. I’m expecting a great showing and an all-American level season.

Labrea Carter is a versatile offensive player with a lot of skill. Because of her strength and physicality, She is a great driver. When she drives, Labrea attacks slower defenders and knocks shots over smaller defenders. She can also bully smaller defenders in the paint and is a true three-level scorer.

LaBrea has great size at 5’11, strong body and physical.  I loved her aggressiveness to the basket as defenders were bouncing off her on drives through the lane.  LaBrea is a matchup nightmare capable of taking defenders off the bounce as well as over powering players in the paint, complimented by a smooth jumper. LaBrea did a nice job of showing variety in her game and should have a great high school season.

We knew that talent that LaBrea brought to the table before the event even started.  Would she bring the consistency and effort that she has been showing all summer was the question.  The answer was yes, LaBrea raised the level of play in the entire camp as players were on notice early that they can’t slack or they will be dominated.  It was clear to everyone that she was one of the nations top players in her class.

LaBrea had a couple of games where she looked like a college athlete playing against middle schoolers.  No one on the court could do anything to stop her.  She made shot after shot, rebound put backed her own misses and took everyone off the dribble.  It became so unfair that her coach had to substitute her to give others a chance to show what they can do.  With her shot steadily improving, it’s scary to imagine how good she can become.

Something about these events that people should consider is that there are many calls refs don’t make in the spirit of letting the games move faster. This affected Labrea a lot, especially early on. She drove to the rim and fought through contact, which were clear fouls, resulting in a handful of turnovers early. But over time, you could see her start to find her groove and showcase her talent. Labrea can handle the ball and has a smooth-looking jump shot. She is a skilled driver and an overall gifted offensive talent.

Labrea Carter has all the tools offensively and is one of the top players competing on September 2nd. Labrea has elite size at 6’1″ and a tremendous feel for the game. She scores at all three levels and has an elite jump shot. Her ball handling and passing are a severe problem for the defense. Labrea’s mix of physicality and skill makes her such a fun watch.
