About Laine

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

Quick, can score off the dribble, pull the jumper and get to the rim. I see the floor and create scoring opportunities for my teammates as well. Defensively, my speed, quickness and high pressure wreak havoc on my opponents.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I consider myself very mentally tough. I am a huge competitor that lays it on the line both physically and mentally.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Involved in church youth group and missions. Superintendent’s honor roll. Student of the month for my school.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I recently started a Bible study for my entire grade. I also love to help my family lead mission trips. We serve a lot as a family in our community and other countries.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

One of my biggest challenges was at the end of my 7th grade year, my team went into double overtime, sudden death to win the game. I was fouled into the wall and broke both arms. That taught me a lot of toughness and also a deep appreciation for my athletic ability.

What type of college are you looking for?

One that will provide me with a quality education, a great culture and a competitive team.

There’s quite a few successful programs in Oklahoma that Dooley would’ve started for and likely been a featured option. Instead she played for one of the deepest teams in the state, and was rewarded with a ring. Along with the valuable everyday lessons of practicing with two of the best guards in the state, who are going to the higher levels of college basketball.

The speed and intensity she’s shown in valuable minutes off the bench paint the picture of a guard with big time upside. Seems to play with a chip on her shoulder on the defensive end. While having a great first step, ball fakes and more to be a dynamic driver. One of the must watch players over the next calendar year, as her game could take off.
