She’s one of the best and smartest defenders in the state of Michigan and can play both ends of the floor at a next level speed.

Marshall is a prime example of great footwork. Let’s talk about her defensive footwork in particular. Marshall’s ability to use her feet to beat offensive players to spots on the floor helps make her an elite full court defender. Marshall’s feet will cause headaches for opposing offenses all high school season.

This is one that’s not really based on the number and based more on her game. Marshall has a legitimate argument for a higher ranking, but she lets her game do the talking. She’s athletic with the ball and can create space and scoring opportunities. Marshall is a great 2 way player. She can defend the entire length of the floor and understands how trap successfully.

Marshall didn’t have her biggest game stat wise, but from an evaluation standpoint and an impact on the game standpoint, she was terrific. Marshall keeps getting faster up the floor with the ball and can really push tempo. She moves free and easy and has the blow by speed that coaches at the next level are looking for. I love the way that Marshall can work on the defensive end pressuring the ball.

Marshall is an elite defender and one of the best in the state in my opinion when it comes to the halfcourt trap. She creates a ton of craziness and turnovers. Lansing Catholic has a handful of really good ball handlers though. I can’t help but think that whoever wins this matchup and this aspect of the game has a huge advantage.

Let’s start with her defense. Marshall has been an ace on that end of the floor for years now. It’s been her staple and she was strong defensively again on Saturday. Marshall put a lot of pressure on the ball and forced turnovers, with at least 1 of them leading directly to points. She looked much improved as a shooter in the game, hitting multiple 3 pointers and showing confidence in her jumper.
