After a productive sophomore season, Johnson is looking to take her game to new heights this spring and summer. She’s previously been known more for his athleticism and ability to do damage off the bounce. But this weekend she was a deadeye shooter, with a 43% shooting percentage over three games. It tracks as at a recent JYD practice she was knocking threes and hitting in the mid-range with ease. If the shooting trend continues, Johnson might be one of the more undervalued prospects in the 918.

Rejoice has a strong senior duo leading the way, but the sophomore is also turning heads. An athletic guard, she’s bit of a Swiss Army Knife. Her athleticism and energy translates into blocks, steals and hustle plays. When left open from three, she can make the defense pay as a spot up threat. Clearly has a strong foundation to keep adding skill and feel on top of.

Combo guard, with solid offensive skills. Was comfortable with a good crossover to get downhill and hit floaters. Or making smart passes to teammates. As a shooter, she got it going in the mid-range a bit. Including a nice pick and pop movement.

I had the opportunity to watch Lexi JYD team at several events this summer. What stood out the most was the finishes around the rim. When many kids are missing those bunnies, Lexi has great hands and squares up on the catch for the bucket. I did like the way she gets out on the breaks filling the lanes ready for the kick up pass. Good movement on finding the shooters gaps on the wings for the 3-pointer.
Lexi summer team had a very strong run this past summer Lexit being a big part of that team. The combo guard will need to step up this season as Rejoice Christian will her scoring. A strong summer circuit and more scoring needed by her school lands Lexi on the list of rising sophomores.

Really good athlete. Nice shot off the dribble. Did a lot of clean up work to get baskets. Not flashy, but is going to get a couple buckets a quarter, and then you notice she ended up being the leading scorer in the game. Smart player.
