Decoster is a strong rebounder and applies that smart aggression to all aspects of her defensive game. Mobile enough to step out and deny on the perimeter. While also strong enough to anchor and then jump in front to deny post entry passes. Her offensive contribution often involved her cleaning up around the rim. But she did have a nice entry pass to a cutting teammate from the wing. Could be a sign of her being able to develop a potential high-low connection with her Owasso teammates.

The “5′ in JYD’s motto of “1 to 5 reeeal fast”. Decoster is nimble for her height and position, hustling up and down the court. Yes, there’s the hard running for transition points. But she’s also shown flashes to step out on defense and be in the passing lanes. Good touch and plays strong around the rim. Very productive spring for a team that is racking up the wins. Which should set the stage for a bigger role this winter at strong 6A program, Owasso.

Decoster is gaining valuable reps as an interior presence for the JYD program. Goods hands at the rim for finishing and plays physical through contact for scores and rebounds. Complete with the desire to sprint the floor, which her teammates often rewarded her. Even got out and jumped a passing lane for an agile steal. There’s always room at the next level for post prospects who thrive in their roles and do the dirty work like Decoster.

A couple of things that stood out on Emma was the way she got out ahead on the breaks to finish the up the floor pas. I would have to say she has great hands that if the ball hits them, she is catching the pass. Nice square at the high post knocking down couple of 15-foot shots. Good vision out of the high post as well hitting the cutters on the back door. A strong rebounder that scored on putbacks. A 2028 that will continue to get better.
