Big guard who can work inside and out. As a bag of moves, she unleashes with the ball in her hands. She can play with her back to the basket or face up and hit you with a pound, then a step-back. She can knock down the 3 ball at a high clip or attack from the arc and finish through contact. She’s a solid scoring threat no matter where she is on the floor. Defensively, her size poses a threat. She can guard both bigs and wings, making them shoot tough shots. Can block shots, contribute on the boards. This young lady brings an all-around game to the table that D1 schools are clamoring for. Look for her to land at a great school at the next level, but in the meantime, she will be the leading catalyst on a program looking to go deep next year as they contend for state.

Lily Wright Lily Wright 6'0" | SG Coalfield | 2028 State TN , from the week before Coalfield’s district tournament to now, Lily Wiright has been playing at an insanely high level.

Wright on Feb. 10 showed off her do-it-all game, logging a triple-double, scoring 17 points, and getting 10 assists and 10 rebounds. To add to an already notable performance, this game helped her surpass the 1,000-point mark in her high school career.

Fast forwarding to the district tournament semi-final, Wright displayed that she not only has the capability of taking over a game offensively but can do so defensively as well. Against Wartburg High School, she logged seven blocks in the semis. Both her speed and basketball IQ regarding rotations stood out in helping generate these blocks.

Wright and Coalfield will play their first game of the regional tournament on Friday against Midway High School.

Lily Wright Lily Wright 6'0" | SG Coalfield | 2028 State TN has been a highly touted player since coming onto the high school hoops scene last season. Early into her sophomore season, she has shown that hype is for a good reason.

Wright’s do it all game ste game has only grown sharper in her second year at Coalfield High School. She has multiple double-doubles this year, and still is a lethal sharpshooter from distance at 6’0″. And while most players in TN at her size are designated to play the post position, although she can score in the paint, she still has traits in her game typically seen in a smaller guard. She can dribble, run the offense, and facilitate all at an above-average level.

A recent game that showcased her versatility as a player was against Tennessee High School. In the game, Wright had 21 points, seven rebounds, and five assists.

Tough kid who is a solid shooter. She has a size that poses as a threat to opponents, she can get it done from the inside, but also dazzle the crowd from deep. Her game leaped this past summer as she was battle-tested and rose to the occasion. Look for her to turn it up a notch and torch opponents along the way. A solid kid who is going to be a nice addition at the next level when it’s all said and done.

Wright has started the season off hot! She has numerous games with pouring in over 20 points. I love her ability to score from anywhere on the floor. She does a great job attacking the rim and getting downhill. She continues to make the double-doubles look easy. Outside of scoring the rock, Wright is a solid passer that does an outstanding job passing out of the double team. She knows exactly when to get rid of the ball. This kid has numerous offers to play at the next level, including a D1 for a reason!

Sophomore out of Coalfield High School, Lily Wright Lily Wright 6'0" | SG Coalfield | 2028 State TN , does not hesitate to use her height and speed advantage.

Against Jellico High School last season, Wright had seven buckets off fast breaks. The combination of her length and speed is a lethal combo at the high school level. Her jumper is also hard to guard at her size, and she has the capacity to create off the dribble. She is just overall extremely skilled on offense, and her advantages on that end show up in a big way on defense too.

Wright can guard all five positions on the court at a high level. She is also great at generating both steals and blocks.

Lily showed she is a complete gamer with her size, versatility, and skill. She was not afraid to finish through contact, converting several and-one layups, and showed a smooth pull-up jumper. She showed her versatility as showed her ability to deliver dimes in transition. She has a really good all-around feel for the game.

Big-time shooter that will be dialing it up from deep. Has excellent size and length and will strike fear in opponents. Playing with a talented Coalfield group that will be looking towards getting back to the state. When she is on the floor, she can take advantage of mismatches, knock down the three-ball, and contribute on the boards. Look for her to have a tremendous year where she makes a lot of noise against the competition.

Wright stated, “Shots weren’t falling in one game, but I locked in on the other end.” Lily ALWAYS locks in on the defensive end. Whether she scores 25 or 7, you know what she brings to any team! She had SEVEN blocks in the championship game. Lily also stated, “Sometimes it’s not about scoring, it’s about finding any way to help your team win.” This kid gets it! She has one of the highest IQs in the game, and she is willing to always do whatever it takes to help her team win. The effort and willingness to win always shows when Wright is on the court!

Her game has grown over the year, and her stock is on the upswing. This young lady goes to work as soon as the ball tips off. She is a sensational ballplayer who is going to give it her all on each and every possession.
