She is a flat-out battler — she crashes the boards hard, is a solid defender, and doesn’t let the heat of the game affect her attitude or effort. One of my favorite aspects of her game is her rebounding ability. She boards much bigger than her size and snagged down a handful of boards on both ends against a much bigger Washington squad. I also liked her decision making on the offensive end. She didn’t force shots, took the opportunities given to her, made extra passes and got herself to the free throw line. As Lola continues to gain experience I anticipate she’ll become more aggressive off the bounce. Sain is a quick point guard that can shake defenders off of the bounce and pressure the ball as a defender. Toughness also is a critical part of her game. It leads to a fearlessness on dribble penetration that gets her to the foul line. Sain complements those strengths by being a threat from behind the three-point arc if defenses sags. After getting her feet wet farther down the rotation last season, Sain appears ready for a sizable jump forward as a junior this winter. Through three games of 2025-26, she’d already just about matched her point production from a year ago.
