Her ability to deliver timely baskets and knock down perimeter shots gives Neville another backcourt threat. From my coaching and scouting perspective, that ability to contribute in important possessions makes her worth watching.

Lyric Gay Lyric Gay 5'4" | PG/SG Neville | 2027 State LA gives me a clear reason to pay attention: she has shown she can deliver a bucket when a game gets tight. The 2027 Neville guard’s previous performances include timely scoring against Ruston and a big second-half three during Neville’s state semifinal appearance. Lincoln Parish Journal As a coach, I value a guard who can provide offense when possessions carry extra weight. That shot-making background is what interests me about Lyric in this LSUE camp group. “Closing Camp Season, Opening Doors” is about putting your strengths in front of a staff, and her scoring gives coaches something worth examining. I want to see how she builds on that foundation and expands her impact as a lead guard. LSUE offered another opportunity to compete in a college setting and continue that process. Keep taking those opportunities, Lyric—there’s value in a guard who can help turn a close game!

Gay is not an ordinary guard. She is electric. She is all out intensity from start to finish in every game. She is the type of player that the best players want to compete with. She can get downhill at anytime, and uses her skills to create for others. Defensively, she is a menace and controls the game on both sides of the ball. Keep an eye out for Gay as she will be the leader for the scrappy Neville Tigers.

Gay is one of those “in your face” defenders from the opening tip, and her “never takes a play off” mentality is something you can’t teach. Yes, she can score and handle the ball well, but she also creates havoc defensively, which led to turnovers, and she picked pockets

Lyric is the engine that makes this team go. A prolific scorer with a natural feel for the game, she commands the offense with poise and confidence beyond her years. When Lyric gets hot, the entire gym can feel it — her rhythm, her shot selection, and her ability to score in bunches can completely shift momentum in a matter of minutes. But what separates her isn’t just her scoring; it’s her leadership. She understands when to attack, when to slow things down, and how to keep her teammates involved. In big moments, Neville looks to Lyric, and time after time she answers the call, proving she’s not just a scorer, but a true floor general.

Lyric Gay Lyric Gay 5'4" | PG/SG Neville | 2027 State LA — crafty combo guard and a three-level scorer. She consistently breaks down defenders off the dribble and gets to her spots to score. Tenacious on-ball defender with quick hands and strong defensive instincts. Neville will be a team to watch in 5A Non-Select

Lyric has changed schools and after watching her play this summer she is set to make a big splash at Neville. She has improved in every aspect of the game and checks all the boxes for a winner in basketball. She is a high energy guard that can run a team, but she can score the ball as well. She excelled on the EYCL Circuit this summer and her school change moves her to the big stage as Neville could be one of the toughest defensive teams in the state. Remember the name.
