About Maddie

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

Two-way player who can score at multiple levels. Love to play hard defense, to pass and to play team ball. Strong three point shooter.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

Competitive. No drama. Supportive of teammates. Leader on and off court. Love basketball, respect the game and good sportsmanship. All Conference 24-25. Team captain 25-26.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

“Academic Award while Participating in Sports” x8 seasons so far. Enrolled in EMT program and expected to earn EMT certification June 2025. Team won 1st Place and individual written exam high score at State Opportunities in Emergency Care competition. Have Emergency Medical Responder and BLS certifications.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I lead youth basketball camp small groups. In my EMT program, I routinely lead first responder small groups during mock scenarios. As point guard, my communication and direction of teammates on the court helps create opportunities to score. I have many service hours including medic tent work, Fridley Fire and ambulance ride alongs.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I had two stress fractures back in 6th grade and from that I learned patience with the healing process, consistency of sticking to physical therapy and hard work to regain my strength and skills. I’ve kept up my dedication to keeping my body strong in the ways that help prevent future injury and worked on my mental toughness to not get psyched out when facing tough opponents.

What type of college are you looking for?

I would like to go to a college that has strong academics in health sciences located in the Midwest. I’m not opposed to any size of college, I’ll just know when I tour it, and meet with coaches and the existing team if it’s a good fit for me.

Schneider is an effective guard with plenty of length, good quickness, and the ability to handle the ball at a high level. Her shooting from distance can be a weapon. She takes the right shots at the right time. Her  court vision is a real asset, enabling Maddie to make smart choices, distribute well and move the ball effectively. She is also an aggressive, disruptive defender who forces turnovers and blocks shots.
