I’ve always liked Davel’s game and like how dynamic she can be as a lead guard when she’s at her best. The left-handed guard is a kid who can hunt her shot and score from all three levels. However, if shots aren’t falling, she can use her lateral quickness to defend and help a team disrupt an offense at the point of attack. She is a kid who’s played winning basketball at the high school level and can contribute to winning at the next level in her own way.

The D4 State Champion is a player who balances her responsibility to create for her teammates and hunt her shot well. Davel is capable of scoring from all three levels, generating open looks for her teammates, and competing on the defensive end of the floor. Even when she has a rough day on the offensive end of the floor, she always stays engaged on the defensive side of the ball.

Madi, coming off on an All-State HM campaign, impressed me as one of the more dangerous lead guards I watched. She showed the ability to pull up, off of the dribble, and knock down the contested three and was a constant threat to shoot if given any room. Her all-around game shouldn’t be slept on as she was one of the better defenders that I saw. She’s a career 35.3% shooter, from 3, but I expect she’ll be 40%+ this season.

impresses me with her ability to control the game as a point guard. Her left-handed shot has beautiful form, and her court vision allows her to make crisp passes that keep the offense flowing. She is a solid defender who boxes out well and crashes the boards effectively. Madilyn averaged 13.0 points per game, 3.2 assists per game, and 2.9 steals per game last season, showcasing her well-rounded contributions on the floor. She also shot an impressive 43% from the field and 35% from three-point range. Her debut game as a freshman against Athens was particularly noteworthy, as she scored 22 points while contributing 5 assists and 8 steals to her team’s win. Her poise and playmaking ability will continue to make her a key player for Neillsville.
