recorded a double-double with 14 point and 14 rebounds proving that she is one of the most dangerous players in a loser goes home scenario. Ray can score in the paint and facilitate with the best of forwards in the State. Ray can also handle the ball quiet well in the offensive set at 6’3″, and that ability helps her teams break presses and get the ball across half-court. On the defensive end, Ray is an elite paint protector, averaging 6 blocks per game. She could make it very interesting against Booker T Washington with her size and her ability to defend the paint.

is finding her groove in the paint on the defensive end after missing last season. She effortlessly blocked shots in the paint and grabbed rebounds on both ends of the floor. The senior forward is sacrificing her natural position for the sake of the team , playing on the perimeter and handling the ball in press break. Ray showed the flashes of old at the Tampa Bay Christmas Invitational. In a one possession game, she has the ability to control the paint. In the game I observed, the winning shot came from the perimeter- no where close to the middle of the paint. Ray affects the opposition’s attack because of her defense in the paint.

In just a little over a month into the season, Maddie Ray is returning to pre injury form and putting up gotty numbers in the process. Through 8 games, Ray is averaging nearly 10 rebounds per game, 10.3 points per game, and an incredible 7.6 blocked shots per game. The blocked shots allows Ray to control the pace of the game. At 6’3 with impeccable timing, no shot is safe around Ray. In addition to shot blocking, the center is finding the shooting touch, controlling the glass, and even making the assists. Ray is an excellent passing big. As a Freshman, the offense flowed through Ray often and she was comfortable dishing to cutters at the basket.

is back in action after missing last season due to injury. The center showed flashes as she works her way back to full rhythm. She was solid in the paint and made players think twice about driving to the rim. She blocked a few shots and altered a lot more. At 6’3 with good foot work and elite court vision, she is exceptional at setting up her teammates for open shots on the perimeter. As a Freshman, her team ran the offense through Ray. She has the ability to impact the game in so many ways.

Maddie Ray is known for her offensive IQ and skill, but she’s also very impactful on the defensive end. With her size, length, and competitiveness, Ray changes the game around the rim. She moves her feet well, contests without fouling, and uses her timing to turn away shots inside. Her hustle and anticipation allow her to cover space quickly — helping, rotating, and protecting the paint when it matters most. She’s smart, physical, and relentless — the kind of defender who makes opponents think twice before bringing anything near the basket.

came on the scene with a lot of polish as a Freshman. Ray is a talent that college coaches yearn for – a big who you can run an offense through and she has the ability not dissect a defense apart with the pass or shot. That was her skill-set as a 9th grader. Ray is looking to make a complete comeback this season after a few setbacks. The talent is undeniable and the 2026 campaign could be one for the ages for this talented big who can do it all.

Madi is taking her talents to GA and the 3SSB Circuit this travel season. Injury has held her back a bit, so I don’t think we’ve even seen her at her full potential yet. Her length and height allow her to block a ton of shots. In the paint, she’s very patient and precise with her footwork to allow her the best look possible. This can be and will be an undoubtedly big summer for one of the most mobile posts in her class.

played well at the CDI tournament. She stepped out several times and connected on the three point shot, but in the paint is her domain. Ray was nice in the pick and roll game where she was unstoppable after the catch at the rim. She was also hard to stop at the freethrow area. Her midrange was potent all weekend long. Defensively, Ray is a walking shot blocker. She does a good job of controlling the paint. Ray does it all well and is one of the top bigs in the 2026 class.

had Tocoi stressed from the moment the game started, but wasn’t converting a lot of point blank shots. In the second half, shots started falling for the Sophomore big and she was the difference in the highly competitive contest. Ray has a plethora of offensive moves. She can back the fender down. She has great footwork in the paint and can maneuver iand get off close shots. Ray can shoot the short jumper and also shoot the long range three pointer. Ray is a high IQ player who can play off the ball or have the offense run through her and have her make the reads.

is one of the top players in North Florida in any class and the Sophomore Forward-Center is set to have a monster season. Ray is a High IQ post player who can score on the inside with great post most moves and excellent footwork. Ray is so versatile and also has the ability to stretch the defense with her outside shooting. She had a monster season as Freshman and was the catalyst for her team. As a Freshman she was the focal part of the offense and was called upon to facilitate, score, and lead.
