Coester has the highest number of kills so far for those included in this report. Through 61 sets played, she has tallied 309 kills for the Girard Trojans. She also reached the 1,000-career kill mark this season. She will make a run at 1,500 before the season concludes. She is a long forward who can clean the boards on the basketball court. She is currently ranked No. 70 overall by Prep Girls Hoops Kansas. I get the feeling she is leaning towards playing college volleyball, but has seemed open to playing either sport wherever she gets the opportunity.

I expect big thing from Coester in her senior season, particularly since her back-to-back 3A state tournament appearances have come up short. Over the past year Coester turned into a solid, inside-outside scoring threat. Add that to her solid size and speed, ability to help bring the ball up against full court pressure, strong rebounding ability on both ends and you have a recipe for a top tier post in 3A. Her growth gained her SIK first team and KSHSAA honorable mention honors. She also moved up from honorable mention in 2024 to second team CNC League honors.

The Trojans’ return to the state tournament ended with a first round loss to Silver Lake. After digging a hole in the first quarter Girard shaved the Eagles’ lead to 6 points a few times and Coester literally was a big piece of why. Despite having 7 turnovers her solid size, length and smarts enabled her to score 12 points, going 2/4 from three, while gathering 6 rebounds (3 offensive) and 4 steals.
